Just finished mine. All expectations met, and a boatload of fun. The Rivian employee was awesome, and we had a great time. I was keen to test Driver+ on 400, which I got to do for a mile or so. Worked similar to what I've seen in my Acura, which I thought was great, but I'm looking forward to hopefully an OTA where they use the camera to look at your eyes instead of making you physically touch the wheel every several seconds. I asked her what it would take to turn this from a test drive to a delivery, but it seems bribes aren't an option. :)

Are these home appointments or for an event at a single location?

Maybe the focus was on NE suburbs, and Johns Creek just squeezed in?
My guide advised that since this is a 'drive from home' event and not a single location staged event like Sonoma or LA, they are scheduling drives in very specific parts of the metro each day for efficiency of scheduling. They plan to move to different parts of the metro each day. This makes sense to me. Secondly, they are super focused on picking people who are very close to their upcoming delivery date and haven't been to an event or had a pervious drive. This also makes sense and may explain why everyone that lives in the same (or neighboring) town may not get scheduled for a test drive at first.

I’ve had to actively tamp down my excitement level thinking the same thing regarding delivery soon. My test drive person almost seemed surprised that I had not heard from a guide—or maybe that was wishful thinking on my part. I’m a July - Sept, but I’m also a mid 2020 order so crossing my fingers I’m at the front end of July.

Drove by the ATL service center today. Temporary fencing was up so I couldnt look inside. Appears to me they are still in early construction. Must be at minimum two to three months until completion. I hope many of y'all with LEs will have your trucks way before the service center is finished.

They have a temporary service center. I think he told me it is near the Scofflaw Brewery. But don't quote me on that. He said the real one is supposed to open in May and they will also have a show room as well in a different area. And then of course the 2nd plant down in Social Circle. Said the plan is to have a massive presence in the ATL area over the next 2 years.

I am not upset at all by the co-location of breweries to these service centers ??

I'd love to see the showroom right next to Tesla's store in Avalon but that's probably not the right place for one anyways. Would be cool to see one in a more rural location to cater to the outdoorsy crowd, but I have a feeling that the West End area ITP would be ideal for a setting like the Venice Space.

He didn't say where the show room would be. And I didn't ask. I had already asked him a million questions and didn't want to seem too pushy. But it was clear in his words that the ATL area is planned to be one of the most important areas for Rivian. There will be a huge push for direct sales, which likely impacts the political races later this year. The massive plant in Social Circle, etc.

Just curious - is that Launch Green or El Cap? Hard to tell in that lighting. Either way, I hope one of those two colors shows up for my drive as I've flirted with both a lot over the past few months.

I think It's the launch green one. I would assume that's the same truck they brought to me on Saturday morning too. The color was awesome. Almost wish I had picked it. I didn't write a long write up on here. But I was very very impressed with the truck. By far the best vehicle I have ever driven. It was the first time I had driven an EV. I've sat in a tesla but never driven. The one peddle driving was different at first. But after about 2 traffic lights I was used to it and was thinking this is actually a better way for a car to drive.

But you know what, the more I look at it that might be el cap. Maybe the person who posted those will respond. Will attach a few pics of our drive if I can get them off my phone and onto the computer.

It's Launch Green. After seeing it, I'm really excited about the color. I wouldn't say I've been on the fence about it, but have been not totally locked in. Looks like the sun came out by the time it got to rivianUGA.

The sun was out but there was snow flurries and the wind was nuts.

And speaking of the wind. I got the truck out on I-85 and you literally had no idea the wind was blowing, even going 80 mph.

With all these test drive events being announced on the east coast, and around me in NYC and DC, I find myself checking several times a day for a Pennsylvania/Delaware event announcement.?
