Over a year ago when Hurricane Berryl left most of the Houston area without power for over a week (and over two weeks in many places in the area), I was quite jealous of the Ford Lightning and Cybertruck owners who were prepared/installed and able to simply plug their truck into the box in their house and switch over a bunch of circuits in their house to power lights, ceiling fans, kitchen appliances, etc. for a week with their truck.. those guys didn't need a $20-30k Generac install and yearly maintenance, didn't need to run gas generators all day and night with extension cords running everywhere for box fans and phone chargers, didn't need to toss out all the deer meat in their freezers, didn't need to live in the darkness; just charge up your truck before the storm hits. I was excited when Rivian announced an upcoming V2H solution around that time.. ...but here we are a year later, in hurricane season, and I'm getting a quote for a Generac. Oof.
