Not true look it up. My my mom makes 39 k. Pays zero taxes

So called middle class pay no taxes..... tell us yours?,?,,

I paid 24% of 1 million and happy to pay I love America
Someone who makes 39K a year isn't middle class. Median income is somewhere around 65-70K. I wouldn't want to try to live off 39K a year myself, and even with paying 0 dollars in tax you'd struggle to pay your bills. I spent more than that on a hobby of mine this year.

Too bad billionaires don't share your I love America attitude because they pay way less than 24% on taxes.

If your mom makes $39k and pays $0 in taxes, she either has investments to offset income or you just outed her as a tax fraud lol.
You clearly dont know your taxes. Nor her situation.

Anyone on this post has money or they would not be paying 70 to 100k for a car.

Are you paying your share?

I think I found the one troll who somehow found a way to be bad at trolling. I mean, at least be annoying. You can’t even accomplish that lol

Are you? Let's see your receipts.
You really think that someone is gonna share detailed financial information on a public forum, much less one that is about cars and not for financial analysis? Like, really? That might be the stupidest thing I've seen posted online.

EDIT: Whoops - quoted the wrong person, the one I wanted to reply to looks to be banned now. Apologies, @Dark-Fx - looks I need to improve my reading comprehension!

I see this guy was banned, so I'm shouting into the wind a bit with this reply, but I need to clear something up. I cannot speak for @Dark-Fx, but personally, the 'I want a tax on billionaires' thing has nothing to do with my personal finances. I am not seeking a tax reduction, nor do I aim to generate revenue from taxing billionaires.

I want to use you and your claims as an example. Earlier in this thread, you claimed to have made one million dollars last year and paid 24% tax on it. We will put aside the fact that 24% doesn't match income tax tables, that amount is for 100k-191k, or dividend tables if you were getting income on a K-1, which is 15% until mid 500's, then goes up to 20%, and assume what you say is true, that you actually do make a million dollars a year.

Do you notice how much better you live than the average person? You not only drive a Rivian, but you could afford to replace yours every year at that income and not even notice. You can buy or do pretty much whatever you want, earning around $1 million a year. Someone making a billion a year makes A THOUSAND times more than you do.

How can you square that experience with the average person's? The middle-class family doing okay on a combined 100K a year, which is above the median btw, makes TEN THOUSAND times less than that guy making a billion dollars a year. Speaking for myself, I don't see how anyone should be making that much when so many people are struggling. After a certain point money is just numbers on a computer somewhere. That billionaire wouldn't notice, nor would they have any life quality reduction if you took 90% of that in taxes and they made 100MM instead.

The economy is only possible because of the efforts of everyone who works. To me that means we need to look at how things are distributed. We need incentives for people to create products that make our lives better, but we should also be honest as to what money's true purpose is. Once you have enough to fulfill ALL your needs and wants, if you're a decent person, the logical thing to do is give away the rest. What do you need it for?

These people can never have enough. And, in my honest opinion, decent people couldn't accumulate such wealth.

I'm very interested to know what RJ will end up doing with his.

Apologies for the possible slip into politics.

But, imo, many of our world problems exist because the concept of having “enough” is lost to many.

No argument, at some point it went from having enough to a game to see who can get the most.

The numbers we hear these days are hard to relate to. An example of that, if you had 1 billion dollars, you could spend 1 million dollars a week and it would take 19.2 years if that money was not gaining any interest to spend it all.

Haha....now let's put the national debt (and global) into perspective. Our reckoning is coming, there's no end in sight to the over spending. Taking this theme deeper, humanity is over consuming Mother Earth's resources...it is simply not sustainable. The system of constantly buying shit we don't need is force fed down our throats every single day.

LIVE SIMPLY friends.

Cheers!

The notion that people with significant wealth needs to be compared to others smacks of "haves-and-have nots". People need to own and take responsibility of their lives outcomes and stop looking for others to compare against. Worse, seek some justice in their mind by penalizing the "haves" instead of doing something about their own situations.

Let's take Rivian vehicles for an example. Most of us on this forum have one, or more and how do you think people driving in 10 yrs old POS ICE look at us? I'm pretty certain that many feels the same way some of you feel about ultra wealthy - just a different magnitude. It's just relative to where one is.

The fairness is also relative to where one stands. It is not absolute. We need to create an environment where more people can afford to buy Rivians and alike.

Instead of complaining about the rich, let's help everyone get rich. Isn't that the American way? As an immigrant myself, I cannot be more grateful that this country allows success to anyone who works at it.
