Rivian Pricing FAQ Update Communication

Thanks to everybody who reached out with questions about preorder pricing. We know a lot's happened over the last couple of weeks, so we thought a quick recap might be helpful. Our developers are working hard to restore your pricing in our systems. We appreciate your patience as we get this set up. Here’s what you can expect once everything is updated: You will be able to reconfigure your preordered vehicle and maintain pre-March 1 pricing. You can even swap between R1T and R1S and maintain pre-March 1 pricing. Rivian accessories will be available at pre-March 1 pricing. If you’d like to configure a post-March 1 option like Dual-Motor AWD, Standard battery pack or new accessory offerings, new pricing will apply (and we’ll be back in touch on how to select those options).

As a reminder, terms and details can be found in the Preorder Agreement. We’ll email you as soon as the configurator and your Rivian Account Page are updated. The only way I see switching to Dual Motor or Standard battery as remotely attractive with new pricing is if either upgrade provides 800v architecture.

Yes! Excellent communication -- warm, clear, not when its essential but as a thoughtful update, open, and engaging. Thank you Rivian!

Forum members, do you interpret this as meaning that you can add an updated configuration item a la carte, paying the new price for the new option, but having everything else remain at the old pricing?

Yup, I'll get my Adventure R1S as I ordered, except now I'll be able to add the a la carte tow hooks that I really wanted for the new $300 price. Almost a win-win except for being forced into a 7-seater.

As a reward, I'm giving Rivian an extra $1,500.. I'm switching from LA Silver to Forrest Green.

Just confirmed with CS that if you “make changes” (I contemplated moving to the R1S) then your timeline could be impacted.

I agree,
additional things that would would make a difference on whether I accept the downgrade:
What the range improvement will be
Roof options
Removable panels or solid option
Winch
If the motor configuration changes the frunk capacity to prototype level
(so i can throw my dometic up front and not worry about the hump that snuck into production frunk)

I know they were all mentioned as s00n but those were based on early covid/ pre russia issues so it'll be curious to see if picking up the delay would enable those additional options to be available
