Rivian Pricing FAQ Update Communication

Great email (and great news contained within). I really hope this is a sign of better communication to come.

The only thing I wish it mentioned was the deposit situation. I—and I know plenty of others have said the same—had my deposit refunded before the order was reinstated. I believe CS has told people we won't be required to put down a new deposit, but it would have been nice to see that addressed in an official email.

If only they'd launch the delivery estimate feature so we can see for ourselves what the impact is. It will save their CS team from having to copy/paste a canned response to our questions on that daily if they just released it

That probably got shoved to a back burner with a quickness when they had to defuckulate the pricing situation, and remake the old configuration Structure for pre March 1st people.

Great, that's good communication.
I would seriously consider the Dual motor if they knocked $6k off my price but I don't think that's happening. Anyways, I'll probably change my color at some point. I like Forest Green, but that Rivian Blue speaks to me.

Once I was able to justify $1500 for a color, justifying another $1000 for the color I wanted more seemed easy.

I do not think you need to add them, according to the new pricing structure they are included with the Adventure package and a $300 add for the Explore.

That’s what a CS told me too. I asked him a few times to confirm and he said yes, tow hooks will be included in Adv package for Pre March pre orders, at no extra charge.

Just confirmed with CS that if you “make changes” (I contemplated moving to the R1S) then your timeline could be impacted.

they've been saying that since i placed my pre-order.

i am really glad to know our pre-march configurations aren't locked in... the wheels i chose seem to be the most ubiquitous and the bright 20" are growing on me...

I just reconfigured to Forest Green (from LA Silver) as my final color choice after seeing owner photos in the "Forrest Green" thread. Beautiful color....

Yup, I'll get my Adventure R1S as I ordered, except now I'll be able to add the a la carte tow hooks that I really wanted for the new $300 price. Almost a win-win except for being forced into a 7-seater.

Shouldn’t the tow hooks be free and included as part of the Adventure pack?

I would consider that only if there will be no change to the current tax credit when it's my turn to take delivery next year. If the rumored price cap is added, then all bets will off no matter how attractive the pre-March 1 prices look.

I am definitely with you on that. Unfortunately I think that bill only makes it through if the Democrats significantly increase their numbers in the Senate and that is not likely to happen.

I read previously on this forum that a Tax Credit price cap would only be applied to the actual price of the vehicle with no vehicle accessories included. So things like the camp kitchen, tent, charger, etc wouldn't be applicable. Going to try and find that thread...

As a reward, I'm giving Rivian an extra $1,500.. I'm switching from LA Silver to Forrest Green.

Good choice. That forest green is so beautiful.. I want it, but most of the cars I have owned, including my current GMC, is silver..

you just made the case for getting forest green. Do it. You can buy any old car in silver. But there are not many dark green options.
