Picked up a rock strike the other day on the freeway. Cracked the windshield in the far passenger side corner. The Safelite folks tell me that it can't be repaired since both layers of glass are cracked. This is a crack, not a hole. The longest line is a little less than 5 inches.
I have an appointment to replace the windshield at the Bellevue service center, but am wondering if it really needs to be repaired. All previous windshield cracks I've had have been much larger and more pronounced.
Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.
BTW: the Safelite guy told me that they are working on getting the calibration setup for Rivian. They need that to be authorized to replace windshields and won't work on one without being able to calibrate any cameras/sensors on vehicles they service.
