Kind of like Rivian! I've owned one Range Rover Sport and absolutely loved it. I never gad any problems at all over 75,000 miles in two years. My three R1Ts on the other hand (which I also love) have had so many SC trips I can't count them. The big difference is RR interiors are much moe comfortable than Rivian. Rivian technology is better and obviously is an EV.They DO NOT build fantastic vehicles, granted they look great with great features.
My neighbor a Range Rover enthusiast explains all his Range Rovers this way....He's owned about a dozen over his lifetime. Still loves them.
It's like the most beautiful 25,000 square foot mansion with all the luxury in the world including outdoor spaces to rival the best country clubs or luxury resorts. But at 2am all the lights might turn on, or the pool will drain or the music will start blaring randomly. And all the home systems and appliances will fail potentially in the first 30-90 days with warranty denials from all the builders, subcontractors, and appliance makers.
FWIW more EV choice is a great thing and RR lovers will snap these up in droves.
Hey, my ‘07 XK takes exception to that.Best comment so far!!
Just for laughs... cars known for some of the worst electrical systems over the years:
Jaguar
Rover
Triumph (or any Leyland vehicle actually)
MG
Hmmmmm, do I spot a trend???
But the TR7 looked cool.^^^^ ahhhhhhh, run away!!!!!! Anything made by Lucas sucks, ask my 20 year old self who was dumb enough to buy a TR7
"Trust Lucas"?? To do what... leave you stranded? Well, job done then.. brilliant![]()
We, Rivian drivers should not really talk about reliabilitySo, a car infamous for electrical issues came out with an electric car. I hope things have improved.
Yeah but RR has been having "reliability issues" since 1970...We, Rivian drivers should not really talk about reliability. We bought these vehicles despite the reliability issues.
Chelsea tractor: that said 99% of Rivian’s (source: me) have also to yet see a trace of good honest dirt.I applaud RR for putting together an EV. Rover has great off-road know how. I can’t imagine anyone I know who owns a RR even driving on gravel.

Although they bought Jaguar in 1990, Ford didn't acquire Land Rover until 2000/2001. I have a Defender built in December 2001. Being part of Ford's PAG didn't help there lemme tell ya.The best thing that happened to Range Rover was when Ford bought them in the 90s. They brought Ford's clout and priorities into RR supplier chain and replace most of the things that troubled them.
I owned Jaguar S type V8 (Jaguar designed, not Ford's) for over 100K miles with no electronic issues (I used to call it fancy Taurus). While it was not RR, it was under the same umbrella with the same supplier chain.
When Ford sold them off to Tata Motors, it was lock-stock-and-barrel so all the improvements and reliability transferred with the sale.
Today, JLR is a sausage being made. Messy to say the least. At least RR and Defender line looks good and stable but what they've done with Jaguar is shameful to take such a legendary brand to where they are today.
Cargo bars, without an active use…. …questionable but we can let it slide for nowDoes sand count?
