Not everyone changes cars every couple years. I tend to keep my cars for 10 years. Having hard plastic, you will scratch it without trying. My current car has scratches in the plastic due to backpacks sometimes falling out of the passenger seat or I pull the backpack up from the floor and zippers scratching the plastic and permanently leaving marks. Some people want to keep the things they own nice and don't just think of their car as a depreciating asset but as something they care about.Just use the car. So easy to get wrapped up in all the online content obsessing about quality, panel gaps, materials etc. Reality is it‘s just a car at the end of the day. A depreciating asset.
If you use it/abuse it to the point the plastic is beat up it’s all replaceable. Most likely by that point you will have a new car to replace it.
You guys must not wash your own vehicles. lol. I hate cleaning all the blemishes on the front end...scuffs, chips etc. As I'm keeping this one a while, I feel front end PPF is totally worth it (if your OCD like me)Yeah, you will never regain what the PPF cost, it's silly unless you're doing a color/finish change.
Just keep those pieces your worried about covered in Armor All, etc. Less prone to scratch if they are slickened up a little. The Out of Spec detailing fit and finish video highlights how the R2's use of hard plastic injection molding for many interior parts will leave them highly prone to permanent scuffing. I can totally see how this will be the case for the lower parts of the driver/passenger doors with boots kicking up against them getting in and out, gear/bags scuffing the rear cargo area, etc.
What options if any exist out there for PPF'ing these parts specifically?
I'm not as keen to pay for a full PPF including the exterior.
Pitch to all the PPF shops out there for, and s00n pleasebefore we all scuff the crap out of these R2's coming out

I'm gunna be honest here, if you're having that problem you didn't go to a very good PPF installer/dealer.No worrying about edges lifting, bug guts getting stuck in the PPF etc.
Even on fully wrapped edges, they will eventually lift. It's not a zero maintenance application as it tends to be advertised.I'm gunna be honest here, if you're having that problem you didn't go to a very good PPF installer/dealer.
Most reputable shops have a warranty for this should it ever occur. My local place is 10 years as per the below.Even on fully wrapped edges, they will eventually lift. It's not a zero maintenance application as it tends to be advertised.
Yep. Maintenance. To each their own. Not a PPF believer anymore. Ceramic coat and easy washes makes life simpler. Most reputable shops have a warranty for this should it ever occur. My local place is 10 years as per the below.
