R1T 20" AT Wheel Weight, Specs, Offset, Bolt Pattern, Construction

It's a combination of the two and also the way Rivian tucks the entire wheel and tire combination up inside the fenderwells with the vehicle in the lowest ride height settings.

As it is now you can rub with AT tires at freeway speeds on compression dips, especially on turns. All of this limits the width of the wheels and complicates the overall designs.

The height of the caliper also limits us owners from running an 18". =(

Thank you for all of the homework. I am waiting for someone to find an existing OEM rim that will fit so that I can hit the junkyard. My objective is to mount a 20 rock climber wheel on a sturdy rim/wheel and another set of 20 winter tire for Colorado winters. For the rock climber, it would be best for the ribs to be inset further inboard to prevent rock rash when falling off of rocks. OEM wheels are being destroyed when they slip off rocks, ugh. If the wheel fit is correct, I won't need a third set of rims for winter. My current wheels are the OEM 22 for twisties and track. Looks don't matter to me. My vehicles only get washed in the rain. Safe adventures.

My custom wheels are in......that was 6 weeks sooner than I thought....install is Friday.....I know all the limitations on rubbing in Conserve mode and under which circumstances it does it., so I'll hit the same compression dip on the freeway after install the new wheels (using existing Scorpion 20's)....and I know where it doesn't rub (another dip).....

Custom wheels aren't for everyone....I just don't like the OEM Rivian wheels that much....so we shall see......I'll weigh the factory wheels (without tires) and of course the new wheels as well with and without.....

I don't think the large brakes/calipers are really the limiting factor here. There are a number of high horsepower SUVs (G63, SVR, X5M, Urus, RSQ8, etc) with large brakes/calipers and have plenty of wheel options.

It is mainly the bolt pattern and offset.

Maybe that's obvious and maybe I just needed to say it for myself . But yes, someone still has to manufacture them.

I'm very interested in how they fit. And would you please provide the width and setback and tire size? I would also like to see a photo to see how far the wheel ribs are set back from the outer most part of the wheel/rim. I will be using these as rock crawlers, and would prefer not to have rock rash. My R1T has the 22 size which I ordered on purpose for highway and track, but not rock climbing. Safe adventures.
p.s. they wheel needs to handle 7000 pounds plus.

I remember fitting 15" wheels onto Dana 60 axles on my Jeep, had to grind the calipers down about 3/8" to get the wheels to fit. Anyone want to try that

Wheels are in....wheels are on.....wheels are almost 3.5lbs lighter (yet .5" wider)....tires don't rub......Satin Bronze and they have exceeded my expectations of wanting a fully custom forged wheel with an off-road style. I understand wheels are like pizza, everyone has their own favorites, but I love them. Robert and the entire team at Variant Wheels hit a home run and were so great to work with. I believe from date of order to in your hands is less than 6 weeks or (aka s00n)

One-piece fully forged wheel. Available in almost any color.......20"x9" and they sit out 10mm more over the factory setting. I'll probably start a new thread, but wanted to get this out there as a truly first 100% custom forged wheel designed and built for the R1T. Made in the USA.
