This might put to the test the Rivian service center claim that the rear hatch can't be adjusted because they can't make it waterproof outside of the factory. The upper hatch looks undamaged, though. Good news.

It looks like the rear quarter panel is one piece including rear and front door frame. If that is the case, it would be extremely to fix it.

That’s a bummer. But good no one was injured. Let us know the estimate, I’d guess $30k+ unfortunately

Glad you’re all okay. Rivian certified repair facilities have to replace anything with even a scintilla of damage so they try to find anything possible. In some ways it’s nice because they’re obligated to restore it factory-new condition, but dang it’s expensive. So few certified repair facilities exist that they can charge premium rates (as they should IMO if they make the investment to get certified) but insurance might fight you pretty hard about it. My driver’s door was severely scratched in a few spots and was almost $7,000 to repair. But the quality of repair should be about as good as you could ask for.

I'm guessing totaled based on the prices we have seen on other accidents on R1T. R1S is even more expensive, so ya, totaled.

That sucks. It seems that Rivian is not producing partial repair panels, so that’s going to be a full side panel. $$$$$

Glad everyone is okay. I had less damage than that on my first truck and State Farm totaled it. You will be shocked by the "certified" Rivian body shop estimate, and the supplemental estimate they do after they get their hands on it. Sorry, I know it sucks.

Rivian mobile service came to my house in November to adjust my rear hatch. Alignment, and closing.

The whole side of the vehicle is on piece right up to where the front fender begins.

I'm also guessing $30K+ but also possibly being totaled 😞
