I am curious if their reservation numbers are sequential? I have ID 214831 and that was completed within 5 minutes of reservations opening. If so, they will have a few hundred thousand reservations on day 1!
They are not. I put in a reservation over 90 minutes before they meant to open reservations and it's #8XX,XXX

Mine is 4830xx and was also within the first five minutes. No way they had that many reservations in 5 minutes. It's randomized or some obscure hash.

Not sequential considering mine was 619007 and I submitted the reservation at 11:43EST

The electric silverado is not for me, but I am excited about the future of cars. Bring on the EV trend!

Bit surprised there's little talk about the max. 350kW charging rate offering 100 miles in 10 mins.

I realize there are many caveats to getting those fast DC rates but Rivian (and Ford) are off-the-mark.

I may be in a different stream than you. Tesla is considered Luxury car.
Your comment was about American car companies. Tesla is an American car company. As for luxury, they have high cost vehicles, but the model 3 is priced right at the average for cars sold in America.

Out of my price range and don't quite trust GM with their whole history in the EV space, but dig the return of the mid-gate! Also, this is going to be the most efficient EV truck on the market based on the images of their dash... 22.2 mi/kWh! ?

Same as the Hummer EV. Basically they built to the current max commercially available DCFC equipment (Electrify America in particular). Should also be able to hold a high charge rate due to some interesting thermal management. I suspect that as the equipment evolves they may be able to push it even further.

LOL.
Wait, you're serious? Not gonna happen. If the F150L has shown, it's gonna be at least 70k-80k for a 400 mile range version. Because, they will have enough demand for it.
Probably more. The easiest guesstimate is to spec a F150L, then add about $10k+ for the additional 65kwh of battery. At today's prices, that extra battery has a cost of nearly $9k to Chevy. Rivian is charging a 60% profit margin on their additional 45kwh of battery, so that would make it about $14k if Chevy targeted the same.

So, if you're looking at something in line with an R1T finish wise, that's in the $75-$80k range for 300mi F150L Lariat and the equivalent 400mi Chevy will be $85-90k. That would also put it at a slight discount to the Sierra Denali EV which will likely be around $100k.

EDIT: I just saw that they already said that the fully optioned RST will be over $100k, so there you go.

I also like the >10kW V2V charging capability as well.

Tesla is certainly not considered Luxury, not even for the S/X. Expensive doesn't necessarily mean luxury. Tesla and Rivian are both what I'd call premium, not luxury.

Does it though?
Of course looks are subjective. I forgot the requisite "IMHO".

Also "IMHO" the Trail Boss looks good on smaller wheels as well. Just wish they wouldn't keep the "black nose" look that they started on the Trail Boss models. It makes it look very cheap. I would really like it if they kept the bumper painted body color and saved the black for the the lower area on each side of the "skid plate".
