Have “Real” Deliveries Started?

I’m curious the ratio of us who believe “real” deliveries have started. To date, there seems to be a consensus that all R1T’s delivered have gone to employees, former employees and investors.

So what say you? Do these qualify as real deliveries or just an extended Beta?

I’ll say they’re real deliveries because the employees are assumed to have paid for them. BUT I think that makes these PILOT deliveries. Much of my frustration is that Rivian seems to be unwilling to admit this, and may have mislead non-affiliated customers about when they would receive their vehicle. A couple forum people have said their guide has told them “October”. So we’ve got about a day and a half to see if that pans out.

If Rivian said they were starting with Rivian-affiliated customers as a pilot, then I would accept that. Tell me when non-affiliated deliveries begin, please.

Communication would go a LONG way towards building trust and understanding, imo.

Real deliveries because people paid money for them. We know there are some Rivian connected customers being paid (a lot of money) for their feedback. Given the activity in Bellevue there may be some Amazon connected customers, too...

...different than all the schmoes that plunked down their deposit after the auto show debut in '18. A confirmed one of these is the next milestone...

This is another great way to think about whether they are "real". My guess -seeing as Rivian is trying to convince investors of demand - is that that figure includes employee orders as well.
