I just received work order to sign... In case anyone wants to see part numbers and time estimate (6.6 hours); including replacement of suspension compressor. From past convo with SC, if out of pocket, labor alone would be $1,650 @ $250/hr. So all together, you're looking at least $4,650. IIRC, from another thread, the dampers are over $1,500 each. When the time comes, and if available, extended warranty is a must.

I had a mobile service appointment to change my 12V battery for the 3rd time yesterday and mentioned to the mobile tech that I am seeing my suspension drop over time. I hadn't pulled it out of the garage and he said that it did look low. He gave me a good idea to use some blue painters tape and tape it taught between the fender trim and wheel (he said that's what the service center did). I drove the vehicle a bit (In-n-Out run) and went back home and applied the tape so it was taught. In just 24 hours, I can see that the tape is no longer tight and the vehicle is dropping. I'll give it the weekend to document and submit a ticket. See attached pics for 24 hrs of droop on the front end with the vehicle in kneel mode.

Mu father’s truck had its entire air system replaced (all four corners, front dampers, rear struts), compressor, lines, distribution block, etc. The service manager told me to put it in highest mode in the wheel change service setting with tape like you have it. The wheel change mode should “lock” it up in the highest position, so you’ll be most likely to see the leakage and resulting sag.

His was comically off kilter after one night:

Oh wow that's bad especially for one day. Yeah I'll try highest overnight. Makes sense since it'll have the highest pressure.

Awww, it's just feeling a bit gassy and hoping no one notices... Fart joke aside, I did the tape test just for grins. Did not share with SC since they already volunteered to replace the front dampers and compressor.

Agree. If you plan on keeping the vehicle after the warranty then an extended warranty is the way to go -- I plan on getting X-Care.

I just dropped mine off at the service center and asked if they will be doing an alignment if they replace the dampers, the person that checked me in said that for Rivians they do not need to do an alignment afterwards. I questioned him and asked him to confirm. Did your SC say that they would perform the alignment afterwards?

I did not ask, because I personally don't think changing dampers involve undoing and redoing any of the points that would alter alignment. But, maybe I am wrong about that with this particular car. They do, in the write up, include test drive upon completion.

Just had mine looked at. I’m at 62000 miles and jounce lines and front dampers need to be replaced. They will not cover under warranty. $5800 estimate. Very disappointed. I had brought it in 2 years ago complaining about suspension noise. They said it was due to using beefy jounces and was normal. They are unwilling to even cover those. Considering whether to drive as is or just trade it in. It does raise when I get in. Just looks lower after parked.

That’s normal especially if stationary
Well that's good to hear at least. It's always creaky when I put it in sport mode form all purpose stopped at a light before getting on the highway ramp

Wait, aren't you having your suspension replaced?

I think the definition of "creak" is helpful here.

Not sure how else to describe it? I'll be in pole position at a light and tap sport mode and there's an audible creaking noise as the front end lowers? I'll see if I can get a video sometime
