Funny, the rattles in my R1S and noisy suspension are the things I dislike most. Guess it’s a roll of the dice as to how good any individual vehicle will be.
I’m hoping someone has a class action lawsuit over this. Not excited to pay $5800 to replace my front dampers after only 62000 miles. Problem was present prior to warranty expiration. SC did not care.
I test drove a model y two weeks ago. Definitely not flaky. I felt way safer with it driving than my wife. Pretty sure my wife would say the same thing about me. It was flawless and I’ll definitely be trading my gen 1, R1S in as soon as it’s approved for unsupervised driving. The ability to not...
Lack of air suspension is a good thing. My front dampers just went at 62000 miles and it’s $5800 to replace. I do not drive off road at all. No good will warranty repair offered. I’d dump it if you’re getting close to the end of your warranty.
Just had mine looked at. I’m at 62000 miles and jounce lines and front dampers need to be replaced. They will not cover under warranty. $5800 estimate. Very disappointed. I had brought it in 2 years ago complaining about suspension noise. They said it was due to using beefy jounces and was...
It’s a news release designed for investors. There is no way they can deliver on what was promised. Instead of iterating on the Lightning to make it better and less expensive they just threw the towel in. That is not the strategy of someone serious about getting into the space.
I have 23 R1S. I tried and failed on the install. There wasn’t enough space for my hands to fit behind the big wiring bundle to slide the new harness in. I’ve heard the R1T is easier. Would love to find someone to install this for me as the current ADAS is not very good.
I have the defenders. In my anecdotal opinion they are quieter, ride better and have about the same range as the Pirelli's. About 10k miles on them so far. Got 41k out of the Pirelli's.
Back when I had a construction job the company had an F-150. The bed was longer but we still needed to tie down to a rack for things being shown in this photo.
I agree with you. When you disengage it does make the car veer in the direction you are pulling. I think decreasing the force required by half would be optimal.
It struggles in areas with shadows and poor lane markings. There is no respect for Jersey barriers, especially in construction zones. There’s a corner where a bridge is being rebuilt that crosses the American river that it consistently tries to slam me into the barriers. Corners in general seem...
The system is just not safe enough to go hands free. It still tries to kill me at least 5x/ride in I80 between Sacramento and Truckee and a similar amount of times to S.F.
