I find the running boards hideous and make the truck look like a 70s station wagon. They should include a roll of "wood" panel vinyl wrap and a banjo.

I see this:

Rivian Does anyone make real sliders that are NOT running boards too? {filename}

And I want this, that I had on all my Jeeps:

Rivian R1T R1S Does anyone make real sliders that are NOT running boards too? IMG_0028

It doesn't seem to exist though.

Haven't seen anything similar for Rivians yet. There were a couple pics way back when of Rivian testing their own sliders and while it was hard to see the full design, they did look more like sliders and not step-sliders. Those pics are still out there on the interwebs.

This is what I could find again with a quick search. Horrible pics but you can see they aren't steps...

That does look about right, though maybe a bit tucked in. I guess I have to wait, or make it myself, or find a custom shop. I can weld, but don't have a tube bender.

Bill Burke, who has done offroad training for Rivian employees, has a set of prototype sliders on his truck and megawatt sliders on the R1S. I prefer the more tucked in sliders when checking them out side by side. Here are a few pictures when he was moving them to the newer truck.

GOAT Fabrication will make a set without the top plate if you ask. Only photo I have of someone's, there might be more on their Instagram but I haven't checked. I know he has sold a few sets.

Thanks, sent them a message.

Also, it's so painful to see the prices of Rivian accessories compared to Jeeps. I know why, but still, it's 2x-4x for everything.

I too waited and waited for some sliders that aren't steps. I found the same info on Bill, prototypes, etc.

I ended up getting GOAT sliders and put them to use this past weekend with some rock crawling. They held up well to a HARD hit (blind hole I missed) and only caused a minimal dent on the inside support bar.

Well, for sliders specifically, a Rivian weighs quite a bit more, so needs much beefier sliders.

The only real difference is they put panels on the top to make the step. There are a couple that use a bolt on panel, just take the panels off.

It's on. Just got off the phone with Adam, and learned that he actually made the rails on my Jeeps, then sold the company, and started another. He's making me a set in the next few weeks. They will look like the Jeep rails I love.

They look terrible that way because of the mount points for the step.

Yes, I am a picky princess.

That's awesome! I also don't like the running boards, but regular sliders will look great on a Rivian.

Can you post pix once you get them installed?

I think so, and so does he. So this will probably become a regular item, and cost less than the covered type.

Can you share a quick review of what you think of the GOAT sliders? I have not read much about them maybe because they are new. But the price is right for me so before I pull the trigger I would like to hear from someone who has installed them.

Did you have any issue with cutting the plastics? Based on their video it seems like just old eye ball is good enough as this holes are not visible. If they had a template it would make me feel better. Maybe.. I am not sure.
