39.1 OTA bugs (compressor, audio controls, etc.)

I can't recall offhand but assuming you don't need to plug a hose in for the display to come on on the in-bed air compressor.. mine is bricked as well since the last update. Doesn't turn on. All other buttons seem to work (gear tunnel, tonneau, etc).

EDIT: Submitted a service request so at least they know.

Hasn't it been reported in this forum that Rivian has said to NOT do these full reboots on your own? Genuinely curious. Any reports of this reboot causing issues for anyone?

Not that I've seen, I had an issue yesterday (prior to this update) where my ultrasonic sensors quit working, said service was needed. I rebooted it to see if it'd fix it and it did, has been working fine ever since. Granted that's the first full reboot I've ever done, previously i've only restarted the screens using the arrows only to fix the hotspot issue.

Rivian doesn't want people doing the hard reboot where the 12vs have to be disconnected. The software-induced full reboot is fine.

UGH I just HAD to test this...
Mine is not working either. No reaction to button presses.

I'd probably pull the bedside panel and disconnect/reconnect the unit as my next test if I actually needed to use the compressor.

I noticed my compressor was bricked (screen doesn't turn on, doesn't work) after the recent OTA, and have seen at least one other report of the same. Given it's not something people use regularly, I'm wondering if there are a lot more that just haven't been noticed yet.

If you have installed the latest OTA, check your compressor and report here if it's also not working. There may need to be a patch to the update.

I renamed the thread to perhaps just be a single place to gather bugs that will need to get patched. So far I have:

- compressor accessory panel not functioning

- loss of media/audio steering wheel controls. The skip forward/back and press of wheel to pause don't work. Volume scroll does work.

- the notes indicated that in NAV, it would now show both miles and % remaining at destination. I do not see this in practice, either when searching for a destination, or when actually starting routing (both in bottom left or in the drop down turn by turn and scrolling down in the top left). All of it still just shows miles remaining.


If there are others, add so that they can have a comprehensive list and they can get sorted out ASAP.

Anyone else notice a bug where the charging door could open even when the truck was in car wash mode?

Just got a call from Rivian service about my compressor. Apparently a sleep cycle may fix it for some, but mine should have completed that already and it has not resolved it.

Guy said this isn't a widespread problem (I told him to check the forums here for reports and he indicated they were aware) so it sounds like it is an issue, but hopefully on a small percentage of vehicles.

They're working on it and he wasn't sure if a fix would come out via a patch/hotfix or a new update, but they are definitely aware and getting reports.

What about the media buttons on the steering wheel? Have they acknowledged there is an issue? Is there anyone with the update that isn't having that problem?

My air compressor is dead too.

And seat heaters turn off when turn on car wash mode....for whatever thwt is worth

I'm not having issues with anything but the compressor so I didn't report anything else to them. Service tech I spoke to didn't mention either issue, but since he mentioned they've seen the reports on this forum, I'm assuming they're seeing this thread and thus at least know about the other issues and are likely working to resolve them asap.

Alright, my truck is downloading .39 right now - currently on .35. Just tested to make sure the compressor still works (it's been a few weeks since I used it) and it does. Will test again once .39 finishes.

My compressor is dead too. Reboot did not help. The update was installed last night at about 11 pm PST and the car went through a sleep cycle.
But I can't say if it is after the update. I used it once back in July ))
Media control seems to be working. I was driving this morning and was using the volume and next-track buttons.

Just adding a data point here.

R1S. updated to 39.1 overnight. Haven't driven it today, but checked and compressor display is on, and works when starting.
