It’s amazing how many people complain about colors but NOBODY buys them.

Yeah...I could have sworn I saw at one point a rivian colors purchase percentage chart...but can't find it now. All of the "fun" colors are by far at the bottom, which is why they discontinued the yellow, and from what I read limestone already got axed and I think canyon red is discontinued for the 2026 year?

I'm not buying monochromatics as I think they are very boring...and I really want "fun" colors...but yeah, ...I can definitely see why automakers don't make flashy colors since.....they don't get bought due to resale fears.

Of course, borealis is the "fun" color so at least they have one, but I bet it has a take rate that is just as low as yellow.

Nowhere have I indicated an expectation of delivery of the promised $45K R2 this spring. Rivian set an expectation of producing such a vehicle two years ago, and is now saying that production may happen in about 18 months. Some people may find that acceptable. Others do not. In light of Rivian's recent decision to cancel the base model R1 Dual Standard, serious doubt is cast on their ability or willingness to ever produce the $45K R2. This is classic bait & switch, though probably not provable in court.

Nobody paid for a $45k R2, hence no harm, hence no (successful) suit possible. Of course anyone can sue unsuccessfully.

The claim from RivianTrackr is that the Coastal Cloud interior won't even be available at all till late 2026. No way to make it an option if it doesn't exist until then.

Edit: I updated the text in my post to clarify the late 2026 wording.

Don't be too sure. Ocean coast (white seats with light woodgrain) was an option for the R1 and you couldn't order it for a long time. I guess it's available now?

I am confused by this line on the Rivian R2 page "For a limited time, every R2 includes Launch Package — which gives you access to Launch Green, Autonomy+ and more."

Does this mean it's included on any trim? Or is it just performance trim? Would be great to get a Premium with the launch package. That's a great deal.

Can someone help me with the colors, pls? I need to know the correct order of the swatches in the Lineup. Can’t tell between some colors (colorblind)

Those little dots on the site are so weird to me - in all the photos I've seen, Catalina Cove doesn't seem to be quite as dark, while Borealis is a little brighter. And my Forest Green R1T is also a little darker, but it has so much depth.

Online samples for car colors never seems to line up, with any auto manufacturer...

That blue/grey interior in the promotional images looks excellent and what I would want unfortunately it's not actually listed as an option on the site. No mention of it anywhere.

If they continually charge extra for the "fun" colors, they will sell fewer of them.

If you go to the compare section for R2 it clearly shows the Launch Edition is only under the Performance Model.

I was hoping for a red color, but will be happy with Launch Green.
The “Cloud” interior is beautiful.
That’s my preferred configuration. Love the wheels
I’m ready for delivery.

I was concerned that only the black interior would be available with the Launch Edition (Free Autonomy+ is a huge motivator to get the Launch Edition)--so I asked the Rivian AI Assistant about interior choices with the Launch Edition:

Yes, you can order the R2 Performance with the Launch Package and select the Coastal Cloud Signature interior as an option. The Launch Package is available for a limited time and includes special features, but the Coastal Cloud Signature interior is listed as an optional upgrade for this configuration.

If you want to learn more or reserve your R2, you can visit the R2 page. The online configurator will open in the coming months, so you'll be able to customize your R2—including the Coastal Cloud Signature interior—when that becomes available.

True, so that "For a limited time, every R2 includes Launch Package..." comment is a bit misleading, as it says that in two locations on the main page (even if you select "Premium" on the Explore the Lineup section):

So just adding things up.... $53,990 Premium + $2500 standalone charge for Autonomy+ = $56,490. Not sure how much the Tow Package would be, but that is definitely something I would consider adding as well.

This makes the $57,990 Performance an even tougher decision for me vs. Premium, as the Launch Package makes it an excellent value.
