R2 / R3 charge port -- NACS, Passenger Rear Side location

Tesla doesn't HAVE to do anything. They built their charging network for their vehicles. My thinking is that EV and Rivian proponents (most people on this forum?) want to transition FASTER to better options for charging, so manufacturing vehicles that are able to conveniently use the current...

R2 / R3 charge port -- NACS, Passenger Rear Side location

Over 17,000 individual Superchargers in the US. https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/advice/tesla-supercharger-guide But only about 400 RAN chargers That's > 40:1 ratio. I wonder what was behind the decision to locate the charging port on the passenger rear instead of passenger front?

R2 / R3 charge port -- NACS, Passenger Rear Side location

The reality is that Tesla's supercharging infrastructure is so far ahead of everyone else's (EVGo, Blink, EA, charge point) that most other vehicle manufacturers decided to adopt NACS charging port. So, why not put the port divers side rear or passenger front? Hope they change it. Best would...

R2 / R3 charge port -- NACS, Passenger Rear Side location

But then why not move it to front passenger side. Still toward curb and NACS could also work at superchargers.

    R3 Reveal Shocks!!! 😱

OMG! They fixed the AC venting from the R1. It was stupidly under the center display (too low). and glove boxes. Yippee!

R2 interior photo confirms glass roof and retracting grab handles

My mileage did vary. I'm in Phx and the combination of our heat, the R1S glass roof (tinted with best photosync plus you can buy) and the stupid placement of vents under the center display caused me to sell my R1S that I waited 3.5 years for. I will be curious to see if they make the same...

Tesla Magic Dock Supercharger install crew uses Rivian as test vehicle in Alaska

It's difficult to tell from the picture. Is the R1S using an the stall that belongs to that charger or an adjacent stall? If a Tesla vehicle were to pull up next to it (drivers side of the Rivian) would it be able to charge, or is the R1S using their next door neighbor's charging cable?

Moab UT - Tesla Supercharger with Magic Dock is up!

How about the cable length on these? Remember the location of the charging port on R1's is drivers side front, so that means Rivian owners will need to: a) use the adjacent stall's charging cable and b) maybe double park. Unless they could somehow access the charging stall from the opposite side...

    Jeep Wagoneer S / 400 mile range / 0-60 in 3.5 seconds

@RacerX- If you run across any info on the (currently named) Wagoneer S, please share. I just saw a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Like my 2014 JGC, it has the right balance of touchscreen display, buttons and knobs. Also location of vents is high on the dash so your arms don't block air from...

    Audi SQ8 starting at $89,800 - Tri motor - 0-60 in 4.2 seconds

German vehicle manufacturers tend to understate the range of their cars. See Kyle's test of the EQE SUV Porsche does too. Rivian overstates slightly and Tesla... well... I don't even have words.

    Jeep Wagoneer S / 400 mile range / 0-60 in 3.5 seconds

Our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Summit pkg) is one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Seriously. It's got plenty of luxury comfort, rides beautifully (minimal head toss- unlike R1S), plenty of room, the right mix of touch screen and knobs/buttons, GREAT AC, the engine is reliable and has good...

Are R1T / R1S really 'Adventure Vehicles'? Discuss...

One major challenge about being/staying adventurous is the insufficient charging network. It's difficult to be adventurous if you drive 200+ miles (2.5-3 hours) to your adventure, then can't really embark on your adventure because you only have 30-50 miles left before the truck becomes a brick.

Folks with turbo AC noise at start up

Yup. Despite all the testing Rivian did, the R1S can't handle the extreme heat. It's definitely trying to keep the battery cool. I did an experiment for a couple days when it was 110+ in Phx and did not turn on the AC (cabin temps 130+) for 20 mins on the way home from work. The efficiency...
