My LVMS was displaying a value of 1.0 when I dropped it off at Rivian for regular service when, shortly after dropping it off, I got a notification via the app that my 12V was in need of replacement.

Since getting my truck back with the replaced battery, the value is at 0.0. To be honest, I don't remember if anytime I was in the service menu previously over the last year or so, if it ever read anything other than 1.0 until now.
Thanks.

If I can't get that resolved on my own, I have a service appointment on the 20th and they can look at that as well.

There is a 12v reset in the RiDE menu, I've seen it under the calibrations menu I believe, I'll take a photo of it when i get to my truck in a bit.

Thanks.

All I have in the Calibrations menu is for internal sensors and seat positions.

As soon as you login to RiDE, it's at the very bottom of the main page. This is on 2024.43.01 however.

Mine was proactively replaced a few months ago and the mobile tech said it's probably good for 2-3 years which seemed short to me.

Thanks for that screenshot. Yep, such a thing does not appear on mine with 2024.11.02 software. Tried doing the software update and it gets about 2 minutes into it before aborting and complaining "Not ready for updates. Your 12v battery needs time to charge. Try again later."

Guess I'm in a catch-22 situation. I'm sure they can resolve at my service appointment next Friday. In the meantime, the truck seems to run fine.

If you manage to get Rivian to mark it safe for an update (doubtful with a 12v warning), you should kill two birds with one stone.

So you went into the RIDE Menu and no 12v reset is present? Or you could not get into the RIDE Menu?

It wasn't there on earlier versions. I actually remember the first time I saw the button was on a recent-ish version (August maybe?).

Starting to prep for replacing my 2x 12v batteries (2022 R1T). Can anyone confirm the exact size thread of the terminal block to battery post bolt on the original installation? From the Ohmmu video the head is 8mm, and the diameter of the thread looks very small, maybe m4? This is the bolt that holds down both ground lugs, and both + terminal blocks to the actual battery. Thanks

I got the notification on Monday that my battery needs to be replaced (32 months, 50k miles) and scheduled an appt for a week from today. Service called me to move up the appt due to urgency and I'm now scheduled for noon tomorrow (hopefully when I leave work today it's not kaput). Quote from service was $419 to replace the battery, which is expensive but not terrible.

Maybe they got feedback from others that the replacement cost is prohibitively expensive.

FWIW, from a chat I had with SC staff last month it looks like they have hired contractors in some locations to do routine (lower skill) jobs like tire rotations and 12v battery swaps. Hopefully that is keeping the costs down a bit. Might also be that they are absorbing some of the cost as a way of acknowledging this was a design and sourcing flaw. Just my speculation.
