This comment was referring to Bonding the neutral and ground together. This is done at the main breaker panel in your house, but is generally not done on a generator. This leaves the ground “floating”. Some EVs or EVSEs test this before charging and throw an error if the ground is floating. To get those to work, you bond the two legs together to keep the neutral and ground at the same voltage.

Assuming the generator is wired correctly, would work on a regular 120V generator For doing this.
This kind of adapter works on a 240v generator, assuming it has a 120V receptacle as well. It's what I had to use with mine. Ignore that I'm using the 120V plug for my charger too since it doesn't matter. I just couldn't find my twist lock to 14-50 adapter. There just needs to be a detectable path from hot to ground for a very small amount of energy to pass through to test it.

Awesome thanks, just ordered the neutral bonded dummy plug that's also fused.

I experimented with L1 charging off a solar-generator-battery pack, and had to create a ground-neutral bond plug to charge my R1T. I got 2 miles of range out of a Jackery 1000 charging at 9A. Like I said, just an experiment.

You also have to carry fuel for the generator, yes? The dual-fuel ones I looked at seemed to have higher output on gas than propane. Have you figured out which to use and how much to carry? I like the idea of propane but at low temperatures you will have issues getting enough flow out of it.

I haven't had issues of LNG in cold weather in subzero temps. I'm guessing where you got your propane did a bad job of filtering the water out. Gasoline is 11,950 kcal/kg and LNG is 10k kcal/kg plus the A/F of 14.7:1 vs 6:1 so more propane is needed. However I'll go with LNG because not having to worry about jerry cans needing to vent vapors of gasoline to control pressure.

LNG must be different than propane with regard to the temperature. My gas grill struggles to work right at very low temperatures, something about the liquid turning into a gas doesn't work right.

So if I hook up my "Champion" Dual fuel 6.5K running watt 240 VAC, having a 4 prong cord, it may charge the truck? Or, a bond wird needed by using a plug adapter?

Warm the pressure regulator before start up.

That's a heavy mama jama... Might need to mount an engine hoist to the underside of the hood...
That is an understatement, unless 2 heafty people with step ladders and some carefull lifting is done.

Every portable generator I’ve used requires a bonding plug.
