Thanks. I ended up slipping a small foam pad just behind the front lower edge of the panel that houses the ambient light strip on my driver's door and that completely resolved the noise. Weird, but it was an easy bush fix I happened upon. I'll have Rivian fix it the right way next time I require other service.

Hey everyone,

I have a '25 R1T Tri and have been chasing a rattle for a long while now. I 100% get that it’s a truck and NVH issues happen, but this light, metallic "Geiger counter" rattle is right in my ear and it's killing me.

I brought it to the Glen Burnie SC twice now to track this down with no real solution. I am honestly getting self-conscious about pushing them on an "abstract" issue like a rattle, especially since we are currently working through a separate problem where they damaged my spare tire wheel. It's hard to trust them to tear into my interior right now.

I’ve been carefully trying to hunt this down myself based on suggestions from threads like this one. Here is what I have already done:

Dampened the panels: Put padding/felt inside the front door, the rear door, and on the seatbelt retractor at the bottom of the B-pillar.

Torqued the hardware: Tightened every bolt I can access in both doors and the driver's seat.

If a forum post mentioned it from Google searching like mad, I probably checked it.

I am completely out of ideas. I am still getting this rapid ticking/rattle that is much more prevalent in the heat, and it sounds like it is coming straight out of the hole for the D-ring pass-through.

Has anyone managed to solve this specific upper B-pillar noise when all the standard lower-pillar and door fixes failed? Appreciate any new leads!

I’m having the same issue, but I don’t have the guts to pull the panels off. In fear of breaking the clips. Since I haven’t opened the panels I can’t confirm this on my gen 2. But the service center told me on my gen 1 there is a metallic clip behind the d ring. That is the noise I’m hearing. If that is true maybe isolate that? But they also told me once you pull the upper panel it’s a one time use. It will damage the attachment points and you will need to buy a new one. I didn’t believe that but it was enough to keep me from trying.
