Mine was in service last week and funny enough, the brand new (gen 1) R1T they gave me for a loaner has the exact same noise ?

luckily they fixed mine and so far so good. They said they put insulation around the RR speaker grill.
I’ve had this rattle since June. After seeing your post, I had a family member put their ear to the rear right speaker and sure enough that’s where the rattle is coming from. Thanks for sharing!

Update: The service team addressed a rattle in the back door as this geiger counter sound wasn‘t presenting when I took the truck in. It was a warmer day so I think conditions influence the sound. Naturally, the sound is there and presenting again. We’ve had some cooler days and there it is. I’ve attached another video to reference the noise. It seems to be either in the front door or the B pillar. Honestly not too sure and trying to locate it. We’ve ruled out the rear doors, seats, and roof. If anyone has had something like this resolved at service, please let me know. I’m going to take it back in and would love to have some into to share with my service team. Cheers everyone!

Did you find out what this was because my 2023 R1T is doing the exact same thing and I cant figure it out!

have the geiger counter rattle. i recall way back when someone found a loose screw in the grab handle that caused a rattling noise.

does anyone know how to remove the plastic cover on the grab handles? i tried to pry it loose but didnt want to force it for fear of breaking it.

I’m having the same issue. The SC gave me the BS that they can’t replicate the issue. The mechanic then proceeded to tell me there isn’t a fix for this.

I don’t know what to believe anymore.

Its driving me nuts.

Just got my R1T back from service center and this was on the list to fix. The repair notes said they found a screw coming loose inside the door panel. Repair was to remove and replace with updated door panel.
Will not know until warmer days if this resolved the issue since it really only happened with air temps >80F

They fixed mine twice now, saying it was a loose screw in the door as well. Wish they could have showed me what screw since it supposedly backed out after the first time they fixed it only after a couple of weeks. They didn’t replace any panels, though.

Been good now for a couple of months though, so fingers crossed.

I'm getting ready to take my doors a part and tighten up screws and put anti-vibration matting on it. The Speaker is vibrating. Also, the top of the dash is too, but I'm not sure how successful I would be taking that a part.

I have exact same rattle, which drives me nuts. SC was unable to fix this as well.
I feel that it’s one of those if you wanna get it done right do it yourself kinda deal.
having said that, is there information on how to take the rear door apart?
Thanks in advance

I wish I had searched and found this thread sooner. This exact crackling/rattle sound has been driving me crazy in my R1S since delivery almost 2 years ago. For some reason, the service center kept writing it off as unreproducible. Suddenly, last week they told me there is a recall or TSB coming soon! I guess enough people must have complained about it by now for them to finally acknowledge the issue. They won't tell me what the underlying cause is, but only that the fix is almost ready. I'll be watching this thread and will report if/when a fix is implemented.

Please post here once you see the official recall. It’s been driving me nuts too and they also have been passing it off every time my vehicle has been in service.

My "Geiger counter"-style rattle 100% comes from the B pillar driver's shoulder seatbelt bracket. Placing my ear right up against the seatbelt mechanism confirms this. I've tried everything to find a DIY fix - but the rattle seems like it's internal to the mechanism, and I can't do anything to change it. I've taken it in to the Tualatin, OR service center twice and they've basically shrugged their shoulders, saying it's "normal function" and then later "well, maybe not normal, but too challenging to repair", because of some kind of small explosive charge (!) in the mechanism.

Would love it if anyone has any solutions (DIY or through service center) to address this! Otherwise I might just have to try a different service center and beg for them to replace/repair no matter what.
