The ADAS in our iX is stellar, there's several subfunctions, hands free traffic mode, highway, look-to-validate-lane change, etc. And some really slick tech stuff (not really ADAS per se) like it tracks the last 100 or so yards, so if you pull into a deal end, you can have it simply do a reverse retrace back out. The auto-parking is excellent and there's storage for multiple parking scenarios/configs.

The iX3 is getting fantastic reviews from all over the world, it's definitely a winner. I think a lot of folks are waiting to get a sense of the "M60" trim and even the new iX5 vs. the iX3 before pulling the trigger (that certainly applies to us).

I wish Edmunds would get their hands on one and range test it.

Well, my wife changed her mind pretty quickly. Test drove an M5 Touring on Saturday and came home with it yesterday. They gave us a great price on the R1S lease buyout, so we only paid a couple thousand to get out of the lease. However, we would have at least needed new tires, and repair two curbed wheels at lease turn in. So it was basically a wash.

The M5 is a 2025 with 4700 miles. BMW individual color (Chalk) with the orange interior. It's a remarkable car.

At this point I'm cancelling the iX3 order, but keeping my R2 reservation. I didn't place my R2 reservation until 6-12 months after reservations were opened, so my number might not come up until some time middle to late next year. I'm still going to consider the R2 and iX3 as a replacement for my BMW i4 lease which is up in early 2029. We will see how more reviews and lease rates shake out over the next 12 months.

First off, Great looking car.
Second, what made you turn on the R1 lease?

Thanks!

We weren't planning on trading in the R1S, assuming the iX3 or R2 would be delivered late this year. But with this M5 available now, and a good offer on the R1S, we decided to do it. We were about 29 months in on our lease, and we were easily going to spend $2k-$3k to get the R1S ready for lease turn-in (new tires, wheel repair, etc). So the trade in value was about $3k off of the buyout, so basically a wash like I said.

The iX3 40 (RWD) is now available to configure in the UK.
It's roughly £7400 less than the iX3 50 xDrive. That's about US$10,000.
If the same pricing holds for the USA then the iX3 40 for the USA will start around $51,500.
Really curious to see how the iX3 40 xDrive prices out.

A bigger drop in price than I was expecting.
