Yeah, when I bought my first black car, I hated it, I said "Never again".
When I bought my 5th black car, still hated it, I said, "OK, this time for real ..."
🤪
Black is amazing (on some vehicles) for the 5 minutes it's clean right after a detailing ...
Thanks, it was setup nicely too, coils, those wheels were Japanese imports, nice 255/35 tire setup, OEM (import) front lip and rear wing, a few minor performance odds and ends (a very cool, Ti exhaust setup). Such a beautiful, minimal, near perfect roadster execution, one of the great...
That's a beautiful silver color, and works so nice with the gunmetal wheels, the white light strip, can balance out either the black or light colored interior.
If I was buying I might just go silver, save a few bucks.
My S2K was silver (Silverstone Silver, named after the racing circuit in...
R8 Companion adds significantly better detection, adjustments, collaborative DBs of "hot" areas, TLCs, vastly improves false positives, has much better audio warnings. It's not really about the map, or just being a "remote display."
However, to the latter point, if you mount your detector up...
Nah. The BMW native stack is solid, the ADAS is terrific, things like auto-backup-trace, parking assist, traffic creep, AR overlay for directions, etc.
But CarPlay (or any screen projection solution) is a stellar enhancement on top of it (not intended as a complete replacement). Apps get...
I love the implementation in our iX. It has a non-perm EES motor setup, so that may be the engineering detail that allows for this.
Anyway, it has a nice physical toggle switch on the center armrest console, you can change on-the-fly between B Mode which is regen mode (aka "brake mode"), and...
Same. I'm kind of digging on the 2 year options too. Our current leases are 36 and 24 months, and the latter is nice for being able to quickly (in the context of vehicle ownership) change rides as the (EV) industry changes, or as your needs might suddenly change, or even - and hopefully not -...
Oh, I know, I've been leasing for decades. Won't do anymore outright purchases (especially in the EV space), so I'm pretty set on what I consider good leases anymore (and the last new I've used a broker, so zero hassle, delivery to my door).
I wasn't even really up for the a new ride, the Jeep...
Oh now I see it, hahaha, yeah, that's a non-starter:
New 2026 R2 Performance with Launch Package with a vehicle price of $57,990, a monthly lease payment of $829, and $5,724 DUE AT SIGNING.
$857/mo with my config (but without Coastal)
Effective with the DAS across 36 months, plus tax, almost...
Oh yeah, I wasn't getting that!
Now it poofed in after a refresh :D
EDIT
Oh, I see when I have Coast Cloud interior selected it doesn't show the lease rates.
Yeah, that was a nice surprise.
@RomanMF
We've had a couple of light interior cars back to back, and certainly, it's very use case specific (young children, pets, using it off road on trails, etc.), but we've never had any issues with the lighter color, especially the synthetics in the BMW...
