The notion that people with significant wealth needs to be compared to others smacks of "haves-and-have nots". People need to own and take responsibility of their lives outcomes and stop looking for others to compare against. Worse, seek some justice in their mind by penalizing the "haves" instead of doing something about their own situations.

Let's take Rivian vehicles for an example. Most of us on this forum have one, or more and how do you think people driving in 10 yrs old POS ICE look at us? I'm pretty certain that many feels the same way some of you feel about ultra wealthy - just a different magnitude. It's just relative to where one is.

The fairness is also relative to where one stands. It is not absolute. We need to create an environment where more people can afford to buy Rivians and alike.

Instead of complaining about the rich, let's help everyone get rich. Isn't that the American way? As an immigrant myself, I cannot be more grateful that this country allows success to anyone who works at it.
This isn’t about how much a CEO or anyone makes compared to anyone else. It’s that this CEO is getting a “do over” on his comp.

So, I think we all agree. One should be compensated for the value they currently bring. Which puts this pay package under scrutiny in the minds of some folks.

I was responding to the tone of the discussion above my posts. I've already made comments about RJ's redo several pages ago. I do not support moving the goals from the original ICP RJ had.

Got it. I probably lost the plot on all this. And, honestly, it’s probably my fault 😂

Maybe veering off track a bit, but that's a bit judgemental and presumptive about people who drive 10+ year old POS. Before I bought my Rivian, I drove a 13 year old POS - which I still drive. My wife drives a 9 year old POS which looks and drives brand new. Sam Walton of Walmart dove a 1979 F150 until he died. I know plenty of people driving a 10+ POS that could buy a new car every year if they wanted to. I could buy 2 new cars each year if I wanted to. Some of us POS owners just want to get the maximum return on the vehicle purchase. I plan on driving a 10 year old POS Red Canyon Rivian R1S about 7 years from now.

The main question is whether the revised package is required for retention and motivation. Likely not. I do, however, want RJ in charge, and we will all be pleased if the stock reaches 140.

There always are exceptions and are very small percentage of the total.

Sure, you're right. Go with that.

10 year old POS ICE cars are some of the most reliable vehicles on the road. I bet half the people on this forum have a 10+ year old ICE car.

Feeling the need to note that the average vehicle lasts around 25 years (unless lost to an accident) and 10 year old vehicles are not even hitting their mid-life stride.

A portion of the compensation could fund the lack of 12 volt for the frunk and dash - and one less horn. They also eliminated the programmer that could put a trip gauge on the driver screen.

One has to feel sorry for, well, actually laugh at all those Rivian fanboys on here who god forbid will not want even a loaner from Rivian or for Rivian to incur any additional expenses because it is not fair for them to burden Rivian even in a fair and rightful fashion. LMAO. Joke's so on you!!

Rivian R1T R1S RJ Scaringe gets new pay package worth up to $4.6 billion I TOLD YOU SO

No ICE vehicles in my garage but I do have a 9.5 year old Tesla that I took on a 7500 mile trip this past summer. Still running great….

Haha....now let's put the national debt (and global) into perspective. Our reckoning is coming, there's no end in sight to the over spending. Taking this theme deeper, humanity is over consuming Mother Earth's resources...it is simply not sustainable. The system of constantly buying shit we don't need is force fed down our throats every single day.

LIVE SIMPLY friends.

Cheers!
Capitalism.
