Is a reconfirmation necessary? This isn't a professional media person, it's very likely he meant 250lbs like the manual and others have indicated but said 300lbs. I'll take the extra 50lbs but I'll also forgive the guy taking time out of his day posting videos about a vehicle to be viewed primarily by enthusiasts who already know every specification.
Also meant to say appreciate the defense. Constructive criticism is taken. I just don’t get what he’s saying. I actually wanted to make it a “live review” where I could answer questions on the fly but YouTube wouldn’t let me go live.

I actually found it pretty informative. Which is surprising.

No worries. Sometimes people forget, especially after consuming hours of content, that people are still people. I can tell you with confidence if I'd gotten a delivery over the holiday break the last thing I'd be doing is posting YouTube videos.

Thanks!

Could you point out how texting/calls work via BT? The four giant use cases of the UI are mapping, music, charge/range, and communications. I don't think out of all the reviews I have seen the last one communications - calls, voicemails, send/receive text, voice to text, etc.

Thanks!

For those who don’t want to go through all the pages of the other thread.

I have a feeling it will be in the next up date. Calls are pretty run of the mill. It looks like it’s Google based though.

I have reservations for the R1T (October 2021 so maybe 50k-ish), Lightening (first 3000) and CyberTruck (first 1000). The R1T is my favorite overall but we are a Tesla family and I can only imagine how i would grow very tired of the attention a a Cybertruck would bring. Are you getting mobbed everywhere or mostly just gathering attention from us EV nerds?
Everywhere. Very much like it was when I had one of the first Model 3’s. I build in extra time on my errands to talk to people at a distance

Interesting, like Google voice? Are you able to send and receive texts in the UI - huge use case I use daily w/ CarPlay.

I need to get texts too. Even better if it reads them to me and allows me to respond.

Thank you, but that has no information on the Payload rating. It's most likely on a secondary label as it's required by law. My Guess is 8532 lbs - 7150 lbs for your build = ~ 1,382 lbs for the Payload. One would think at this point in time, Rivian would communicate with customers the actual ratings of their vehicles so we are not left to guesswork. But this is Rivian and for no known reason they hate to share specifications.

I bet your guess is pretty close. If you look at their tow rating of 11,000 pounds, with a tongue weight 1,100 pounds (10%) and a 200 pound driver, payload would be 1,300 pounds.

3) Would you mind measuring the height available inside / underneath the tonneau cover to the bed surface? I want to confirm for real what I have been told or seen on the website…thanks.

Can you get to the fuse box? How 'bout a photo of it? Thanks for the videos and info--very helpful!
I doubt it actually has fuses that you can access (and not what we might consider "traditional fuses". A Tesla doesn't have them either. it uses relay's that the car/service team can reset when stuff goes wrong (remotely or otherwise).

Have you noticed an OBDII port?
I'd be a bit shocked it if had one of these (or if it really gives you much info if it has one). Newer Tesla model 3's and Y's don't have OBD II ports anymore (waiver) but do have a separate diagnostic port. If you do connect to the OBD II (at least on my Tesla X) you don't get much and can't really mess with anything. Curious, does the ID4 have one?

You're probably right. My BoltEV had fuses, but the Rivian is a bit more sophisticated, I would think. Too bad, though, because I was hoping to be able to turn the pedestrian-warning noise off and on depending on where I was driving. Don't really want to hear that noise while driving at a snails pace out in the wilderness.

Yep. It's handy for linking your car data to ABRP, and getting access to things like your power draw (the heater uses about 2kW on the ID.4!), and battery temp.

I hope they automatically disable that noise when it is in it's lifted mode.
That mode already limits your top speed so I feel that would only make sense?
