It's funny, these types of protectors are stock on Rubicons and people (including me) still add the GOAT rails for a lot of reasons. This seems like an odd one to offer.

I have no idea what you're saying in response to what I said. The large rails would have saved your doors. The small ones maybe. The small ones on other vehicles show a lot of damage and have not been sufficient to save damage, so I got the larger ones.

Adam's website guy jumped the gun on getting them posted.

I stopped in a bit ago, they're working on the production jigs today. Once he can get a set done, I think we plan on taking my truck up to my local off-road park and getting some good shots with them. Will try to include using them as a step-up into the truck in situations where it's way off the ground.

Esportline suggests that newer gen 2 R1S changed their bolt locations somewhat, wanting to verify that this will work with those.

Battery bolt locations changed, but the ones GOAT uses have not.

I kinda hate how side steps look on R1s, but I convinced my wife these will work as a step, while still not looking out of place. We aren't huge offroaders, but I do like the added protection the sliders give. Maybe a huge rock will jump out at us on one of camping trail drives.

I'm fairly sure these rail sliders aren't shipping yet. First set should be ready soon but nothing production has been fitted. I need to pop in over there today anyway, so I'll see if he can give me a timeframe.

They had some equipment issues that I helped fix yesterday AM that were unrelated to this product, but caused some delay since they had to be attended to.

First few are almost ready for powdercoat, just need end caps.

Realistically, how are they as a step? I really hate the way the larger step/ sliders look on an R1S, but do like how these tuck in. If they work as a step, that would seal the deal for me.

I'll pay extra attention to my wife and see how she commands her feet when she walks. lol... She's the one whining about why I don't leave it in kneeling mode on my profile. She also complains about not having a grab handle on the A pillar, but had the opposite complaint on my F150, because the A pillar is so far forward and hard to grab for her... I'm just here to pleaze, so I'll roll with the punches... and try to make the Rivian cool at the same time.
