I was scheduled to have the 115s installed today at Costco. After dropping my truck off they called me and told me they do not have the pucks for Rivian. I was Frustrated with Costco but I quickly received my refund. I drove over to my nearest Discount Tire. They price matched Costco and just happened to have the 115s in stock. I can’t believe how quiet the Michelins are. I am looking forward to putting some miles on them this weekend.

You are going to love the new tires….i got them installed yesterday at Costco, drove about a 100 miles…seems like a huge upgrade from the OEM Pirellis….even a friend commented about the soft and quiet ride. this was the first Rivian that they installed tires for at our costco tire center, they did not have pucks but I did…they had to turn someone away last week for lack of pucks.

The manager said he was going to order a set of pucks. Thanks everyone for pointing me towards the right decision!!!!

But now I have 3 perfectly fine OEM Pirellis 22’ for sale if anyone wants them…hahahaha

One last question…now do I need to get them aligned? And does that mean i have to take it to the SC?

Unless the old tires were wearing unevenly you do not need an alignment. I have 9k on my Michelins, they are wearing fine and I did not have mine aligned.

I cannot remember the last time I had an alignment on my vehicles, I’ve only ever had it done when there was a noticeable reason.

Just a side note. I have my 4 pucks in the R1S with the compact spare. I don't expect others to have the pucks for a very small population vehicle like Rivian.

I bought and had Costco install my LTX M/S2 115 and they used my pucks. Recently I had them rebalance and rotated - again I provided my own pucks for them to use at Costco.

I have been to two different Discount Tire locations in my two years of ownership and both had pucks.

If the alignment shop doesn't have the specs, then share.

That's because Rivian formed a partnership with Discount/Anerica's Tires early on to service the Pirelli OE tires for things like rotation and you could buy road hazard coverage.

The point was that why not carry/offer your own pucks just in case. I did that with my Tesla early on also, before it became as common as Honda Civic.

I did the same here when I got my new tires. A set of pucks is pretty cheap and I didn’t want some one cutting corners dropping my truck.

Thanks to the OP and contributers for this thread. Out R1S is at 25,000 miles and my wife and I were just talking today about needing to replace the tires before we take our Chicago to Cape Cod trip this summer.

my rear tires are worn down more on the outer treads. Does anyone know what would cause this?

Another question question: if I’m leasing the R1, am I required to get the OEM tires?

Underinflation?

If they meet equal specs, it shouldn't be a problem.

Actually, a couple of people on here recommended the 115 rating instead of the 116 as long as I wasn’t towing.
