Probably not showing the charging side because it'll be obvious they aren't using NACS.

What's with the stabs that don't go into anything?

Why would they move away from NACS after publicly revealing it on the vehicle? And in the recent announcement for the updated RAN stations also mentions that they will be supporting NACS with a hardware update...

Personally I don't care what side the port is on, just doesn't really matter. There is no standard for where it is located just the connector itself. If I pull up to this charger it is drivers side, that one it is passenger, BMW has it on the passenger side, but Porsche/Audi have it on both but the front except on these models on the back but some single but some both sides........

Just glad to see they are making progress on the R2, might seriously consider selling my R1S for a R2. Still need to physically sit in one though.

Rear subframe appears to be giga-cast. I wonder what contractor has a gigapress that can crank those out?

Things have changed since then. I cannot elaborate or the board Admin will ban me.

Getting these dies dialed in and online is probably one of the most important items on the R2 ramp Gantt chart. Great news!

Pay attention .....they've already announced, more than once, that they are using NACS

3 castings in the rear. Castings on the R1 are marked "Made in China".

If you are hinting at what you are hinting at, I don't think it's as big a thing as it might be, in this limited context. The plug & port are standardized now (SAE J3400), so they can implement it without worrying too much about other players in the industry affecting how Rivian can use it (if they so choose to not worry. Rivian could voluntarily worry if they want to!)

The vast majority of non-Tesla vehicles and stations have CCS1 ports. There's still a significant portion of Tesla stations that will be incompatible with CCS based NACS vehicles until Tesla rebuilds them. I personally still don't see the point, and I'm probably in the minority of people who have charged using a non-Tesla NACS station to charge a non-Tesla vehicle. The adapter worked fine.

It could be on the front driver (like now) or front passenger side.
