That is a common misconception. Federal law says that modifications do not cause a general voiding of the vehicle warranty. The only place one would run into a problem is if you attempt to make a warranty claim on something that they (any manufacturer) can show was directly related to the...
It will take you all of 10 minutes to master 1 pedal driving. You'll likely be able to let it stop itself without a problem (try the 3 different levels of regen braking that are available to see which suits you). That said, the brake pedal works the same as it does in every other vehicle...
You should generally be initiating the charging sessions via the Tesla app anyway. The $12.99/mo membership pays for itself if you supercharge 2x in a month. You can also stop/start the membership as you like.....but you will generally end up saving $$
Federal law does not allow a warranty to be generally denied due to aftermarket parts. "They" would have to be able to show that whatever problem one is making a warranty claim for was directly caused by the specific modification(s).
It's funny.....the update is not reflected in my account, but I did receive both an email and a text message that I can expect my order window to open in ~4 weeks. That said, I love my Gen1 Quad R1T and likely won't move on an R2 unless/until a tri-motor variant is introduced.
Because it's a prime "feature" of most EVs and relates to their claimed efficiency. At least with R1 there are 3 different settings for Regen....I'm assuming it's the same for R2 - but you still can't shut it off entirely.
Day 1, early in the day reservation, current R1T owner, live within 30 minutes of 2 different service centers....and only good/friendly interactions at the 1 SC I've been to....and no email invite.
That said, my Quad R1T is easily the best vehicle I've owned and I likely won't part with it...
THANK YOU EARLY ADOPTER TEST PILOTS!
I'm either skipping R2 entirely or waiting until there is an "X" model (or 3 motor variant).....by then, many of the early bugs (that are generally reasonably expected in a brand new vehicle model (and particularly from a newer manufacturer) should be worked...
It's not IMO. It looks good and has the option of adding a gasoline engine to extend range to ~500 miles.....but it's also delayed for several years and only imaginary at this point. Also, VW doesn't exactly have a great history of reliability.....(or other "history" for that matter)...
What reliability issues? There are zero reports off “issues” since deliveries started just a few days ago….you cancelled because of your perception….not reality
Until you get to the end of 36 mos and shop trade in offers the “estimated equity” on the finance side is just made up (barely better than a guess), which heavily tilts the “analysis” one way.
I hope mine doesn't come up. Early day 1 reservation, near 2 service centers and R1 owner. The issue is that I love my Quad R1T enough that the "launch package" is unpersuasive and I'm waiting on a 3 motor variant .....or keeping my R1T to add an R3X at some point later...
Your numbers are off.
At least according to the Rivian website, if you configure to a price of $60,990, then the lease is estimated at $877/months with $5772 due at signing (taxes being variable by state).
