They are not completely passive as for the A2Z adapter if you do not lock the Tesla plug in or unlock it it stops the charging. If you depress the latch locking it in the truck it stops charging. It has sensors to stop charging if the temp sensors reach there limit.Can any of you rich folks order 2 of the A2Z Typhoon, and then break one open so we can see what's inside it?
Is it completely passive where its really just routing wires? Or is there any active electronic on it?
I have no problems using an adapter if it indeed is passive. Obviously I'd stick around while it charged the first time or two to see what kind of heat rise it would have.
Other than that they are passive and have no communications built in.
