It's a zoomed shot taken from another building so you can see camera movement in the double image of the people standing the foreground. That is going to introduce artifacts all over.

The lack of two piece windows on the doors means it's a different vehicle and the doors are designed to accept the entire piece of glass.

The white vehicle, you may note, is not parked in the correct spot for the charger and is one space over. The chargers are not back to back in a weird arrangement.

If the front vehicle was the same size as the rear, it would appear larger than the rear one as it is closer to the camera.

The photos are taken of the same location but different angles. If you look at the split wall behind the cars in the close up shot. That wall is on the right side of the wider shot.

This shows them charging on the passenger side. It is possible to have two charge points that this can be useful however passenger side charging makes zero sense. A passenger side charger is plan stupid imo. A charger front and back on the drivers side can be useful.
I would be shocked if they did that, against what Munro would recommend for cost-cutting.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Putting the charge port on the pass side rear would be ideal for our garage setup. Guess we’ll find out March 7!

A) not sure if this was mentioned but does anyone even know if this is a real RAN charging station? i heard it might be somewhere in LA but anyone know where?
B) based on the thread and photo examination by the hive, this is almost as controversial as Limestone-gate ?

I am inclined to believe that this is the R2 preproduction vehicle out for a photos shoot.
1. That is not a charge port in the back. Just some extra black surface. Note no charger door cover (white plastic plate) or a charge cable going to the car. Rivian charger cables leave the top of the unit (upper left and dock near the LCD screen) and is clearly docked below the LCD area.
2. This is a very far away image, so any minor image issues could be explained by the hand moving while the photo is taken.
3. All the shadows and reflections appear correct. Someone posted the shadow direction is wrong for the R2, but it is correct, but faint in the photo.
4. location, staging and water all look correct. Very common to soak the pavement to clean and create reflections. Also very common for architectural photos.
5. Building type, trees and neighboring pink building also look consistent with Rivian. I would guess bay area or So Cal for this location. Rivian has a presence and design center in those locations. The Pink building with rooftop parking is a more common urban building. Trees have leaves.
6. Location would also be close to the design center where the vehicle would be housed/worked on.
7. The big blurry area to the right (parked next to the vehicles) could be a bunch of plants/trees for the photos shoot. Placed near the edge of the shot to block out background or soften the image.

Not a real RAN site. Looks like non-operating RAN stands placed there to produce media of some kind. Maybe making content for the website or for the 3/7 launch.

Unless this is the worst .jpg artifacting in the world, it doesn't even look like it says "RIVIAN". ?

It has to be AI enhanced, probably just automatic from whatever device took it. If I downsample a photo and run it through the first AI enhancer I found it makes things wonky.

I feel like it's hard to fake blurry images. It looks very legit,
This is literally the most ridiculous thing I've heard/read all day. If this is true I have some original BigFoot photos I'd like to sell you.

I have no vested interest in the validity of this photo either way so I'm not sure why it's driving me nuts that everyone is commenting on this thread as if this is a real photo. It's driving me bonkers!

I HOPE this isn't the R2.
I certainly don't think "ADVENTURE VEHICLE" when I see a Ford Flex but this is equally short, squat and long.

I can imagine a charge port change to L rear (opposite corner) since that still matches the RAN chargers if you back in (and you could still pull through, the opposite direction). I CAN'T imagine swapping to an adjacent corner (L front or R rear) just for Superchargers. Unless that was part of the licensing deal, that would mean cannibalizing their own charging network to play by Tesla's rules - I hope they wouldn't do that either.
