i could see it as an R1 refresh except for one thing. Compared to the background vehicle, the front wheel well fender vertical distance to the hood is smaller on the white vehicle. i don’t think that would change on a refresh, that affects everything in the front end under the skin. If it was perspective distortion, the rear vehicle should look smaller, not larger.I think it's the refreshed R1S, not the R2. I know some are convinced Rivian isn't going to update the R1 platform but the design is 5+ years old since they first showed it. I'm sure they've learned a lot since then.
As to why the charging port is in the back, if they switched to 800v, it would be smart to go ahead and rearrange the cabling so it doesn't have to go all the way to the front.
There are some minor improvements to the headlight design and getting rid of the chrome trim has to be on the list.
Maybe they use the R2 reveal to show updates to the R1T as well? Seems a tad too early in the year, but maybe they were sandbagging.
It could also be fake. It could also be R2 and the size is hard to compare given the distortion.
If I had to make a call on this, it seems like a photoshop where they lowered the appearance of the vehicle by taking a section out at the belt line. But I could be wrong, it could be legit….
