A: Certain exterior lighting colors are off-limits to average joe civilian.
B: It would be a non-essential feature for a personal/family car.

Now if you want ability to change the interior accent color to whatever you want, that has a higher likelihood. Just not a priority. "I got 99 problems..." With exception of Halloween, they are more keyed in on features and improvements that actually make the product better... instead of gratuitous gimmicks. Those engineers aren't making chump change. Wouldn't it be rather wasteful to have them work on fart sounds and exterior light shows? Imagine the unflattering headlines and online hot-takes then. It would not impress hawkish investors and the potential for litigation would be a self-inflicted distraction.
I was talking about interior ambient lighting only…

I will be the first to comment:

- “I’m disappointed that this update doesn’t have what I want now.”

- “Just another minor update.”

What else did I miss? ?
No heat pump yet ?

What, they can't do that OTA?

I mean ... don't get me wrong, I'm definitely happy for the parents who need to lock certain doors but not others, and the general incremental improvements are great. Truly. But infotainment and speech to text systems are still well behind the competition (not to mention nav). It'd be nice to see some progress toward closing those gaps.
Updating the truck isn’t linear multiple things are getting worked on simultaneously.

And here we go again. You do know what /s means, right?

@Administrator: Can we get a sticky post explaining release schedules so we don't have to deal with this every four weeks? And would you please restore the BETA RELEASE text that you removed from the issue title? Too many people fail to understand that this is a beta release for employees only and customers like us aren't going to see it for another two weeks or more.
Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed. So much for promoting dialogue about Rivian here. Clearly you seem to think “/s” means something, and if it does, clearly your asking a rhetorical (and obnoxious) question as I’m guessing it means something that had the person the question was posed to have known, they would not have posted what they did. There are nice ways to get ones’ point across without insulting those who post questions in good faith here.

Imagine the outrage if they introduce customizable interior lighting now for free, then try to move it to a paid service? Much better to hold it back until they start charging, because you can't miss what you never had. It
Absolutely! Remember when they tried to change the pricing of those of us who put their deposits in early? I've never had a better return on a $1,000 no-risk investment! For what I'm sure will be the only time in my life, the car was more when I drove it away from the SC than I paid for it!

I still suspect the gauges screen missing for base dual motor was a test to see how unpaid differentiation was going to be received. Rivian isn't going to give anything away for free that they don't want to give to everyone after that debacle.

You don’t know what /s means? It’s a common forum expression. Meand end sarcasm.

I think they absolutely have decided to monetize it, and that has always been part of the plan. I believe this and other features are essentially already written and will be deployed as part of the subscription services when that goes live. We haven't seen these features yet because the subscription services have been delayed.
I think the same thing. I would not be surprised at all to hear that the engineering and relevant contracting is done and just waiting on the subscription model's release. Also, wasn't there something posted somewhere recently that reflected infotainment streaming services as part of the subscription rollout?

I want the electrochromic roof from the concept vehicle. It is coming as an option with the new package and refresh possibly this year, currently in testing. Sure it will not be cheap, I am hoping it can be installed on current R1's like the new tonneau cover. Was so sad when it didn't make it to production.

Haven’t heard anything about it coming out at all. I thought they dropped it completely.

THIS 100%

I find myself getting out of the route planner, and going to the charging manager and sliding the percentage slider to the amount of miles so I can see what percentage i"m arriving with. For the love of .... Rivian, please put both in the or the option for one or the other in the app and vehicle navigation.
I would not complain if they added it but I just swag it for now. I get around 30 miles for 10% of battery so easy to estimate from there.

  • Expanded the selection of Ride Feel settings for on-road Drive Modes, each curated to accentuate the characteristic of the mode.
    • Firm: A more connected driving experience.
    • Moderate: The best balance of ride and handling for daily driving in All-Purpose, Conserve, and Snow modes.
    • Soft: Improved isolation from road and terrain imperfections

  • Driver+
    • Highway Assist is now available on most interchanges (roads connecting two freeways).

  • Fixed a rare issue that increased overnight range loss when Proximity Locking was set to Lock Only at home, the vehicle was at home, and the phone was within Bluetooth range of the vehicle.
All three of these are a big deal to me. Now If only they could reprogram the horn… (;-)

Can we not talk about monetization of basic existing hardware built into the car such as lights...
If we don't talk about it, they won't think of it? Yah... I don't think it works that way. They probably have had thoughts about it already (or they wouldn't have spec'ed RGB hardware).
