I was trying to get drivecam to recognize 3 different USB hard drives. I thought after the latest software update maybe it would work.
I did a hard reset as part of one of the suggestions on the forum. Well now I have lost GPS, data, sos etc. It's not working.
In fact I can no longer do a hard reset, it just shows on screen it's about to restart but it never does. Soft resets work but that doesn't fix it.

been on the phone with support, waiting to see if they can come mobile fix as I think the fix is to unplug the 12V system. Although given my usb data isn't working according to other post the computer might have to be replaced.

So I suggest don't do a hard reset, I think it's part of the software update bug.

Is this 42.1 or 42.2? I have 42.2, and a hard reset I did recently and my car was fine.

Appreciate the heads up, nevertheless

I didn't realize there's a 42.2.

And the only time mine does a hard reset is at during a SW update. Otherwise there hasn't been a need.

42.2 is only for the people that took 42.0 and hosed the infotainment system. Everyone else was getting 42.1.

You can also try checking your data privacy settings. Turning some of this off will affect things like navigation

Your OTA version would be nice to know. Though I think your dilemma may not impact most folks.

You say that you tried ā€œ3 different USB hard drivesā€ and that you ā€œcan no longer do a hard resetā€ makes me think you did more than 1 hard reset. Maybe I am wrong and you only did one hard reset. Did you start with soft reset?

first step, soft reset
Second step hard reset
Third step, call service

never do a second reset (especially hard reset) without substantial time between them. Your truck is still calibrating for a while (I don’t know the exact time but I remember hearing more than an hour). So if you did more than 1 hard reset in a short duration of time this is not good and can mess up your system.

Is it hard to disconnect and reconnect the 12V battery?

you’ve jumped to a conclusion that since your truck bugged out they all will, this is a false assumption
