Amen. The NACS charger is truly magical. It passes the grandparent test and the ADA test.

I know I don’t want to get a phone call from my grandpa asking how he uses a Enel X QR code activated charger that requires creating an account, reloading funds to the account, remembering his password and God forbid he can’t disconnect the CCS1 charger like me….
You are confusing the port, with the platform.

Everything you described after physically plugging in is the Tesla platform. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that doesn't come with the port that Tesla is making available to other OEMS.

If you want that plug and play experience you'll have to buy a Tesla.

A 3rd party charger with a NACS port will behave exactly like a 3rd party charger with a CCS port after you plug it in.

Elon Musk has stated he doesn't support that and has no plans to ever implement that.
I'm pretty sure that is a lie, and Elon/Tesla has recently said that every Tesla would come with some kind of bi-directional support in a couple years. Who knows, maybe if a standard for that existed, other than CHAdeMO, they would add support sooner.

*Edit 2: Even though NACS theoretically has the capability for bi-directional charging, meaning you can charge your home in case of a power outage, Elon Musk has stated he doesn't support that and has no plans to ever implement that.
V2L/V2H also no?
Currently CCS doesn't support V2x either... So NACS and CCS are on even grounds on that point.

Ford gave up on waiting for CharIN to get their act together and add V2x support to CCS, so they went with their own proprietary solution... This is the bad thing about standards committees, they take forever to accomplish anything.

If every EA station currently has two cables and only one can be used at a time seems like an easy cable change.
The "next gen" EA stations only have a single cable. I don't know if the internals support having a second cable or not...

+1 for the humor.

I'm allowed to revise my position as long as I document the revision and not erase history. :p

Thankfully, I am partially disabled but not an idiot. I can’t unplug a CCS1 connector, but I can use a cell phone to open an application.

Keeping up with Musks ever changing opinions is like trying to predict how many pieces of information you can stuff in a single message.

Here's the quote with him shading bidirectional charging. Where have we heard "soon" before - and for stuff he actually likes - not that he labels as "inconvenient."

Mar 3, 2023 — Tesla EVs will gain bidirectional charging functionality s00n, but CEO Elon Musk has labelled it as “extremely inconvenient”.

With the Cybertruck coming out with 1000v support, V4 Superchargers will suppose 800v cars and then some.
I hear it's going to support 1200v and that v3 superchargers have an undocumented mode that already supports this.

At this point I feel the momentum is so strong for NACS happening and taking over that it is pointless to argue about. The anti NACS people sound like the pro Apple CarPlay for Rivian In that they are not going to get their way no matter how much they talk about it here. Edit. And I get their fears but I think it is just about a done thing

3.) I think this point is arguing the opposite. There is no cable length adapter that people could use to make their charging experience usable at a Tesla station designed for Tesla vehicles.
CCS1 to CCS2 adapters with some length exist, as do CCS2 to CCS1 adapters. I'd be up for testing that out at a Supercharger but the magic dock stations don't exist near me.

How many adapters before the charging session becomes degraded?
