    I saw an r1s pull up after me at a RAN and said to the driver cheerfully as we plugged in ā€œWhat a coincidence!ā€ He muttered a nervous huh huh laugh and didnā€™t engage beyond that. Fair enough. Other EV owners have been more talkative. Just a roll of the dice lol

    He is usually fairly forgiving of idiosyncrasies and minor glitches. Sounds like the software is relatively crappy. He drove an early release Rivian also and didnā€™t say its software was utter crap. At end of video he said he hoped they worked things out and he said he was rooting for them...

    Really hope Rivian is communicating with service centers. Picking up an R1T on Thursday I hope. Would suck if they call to cancel delivery as Iā€™m driving there after they try to do a courtesy OTA update and break functionality.

    Still. Rivian does not have a good track record with tonneau covers so people are anxious with good reason. Also, the tonneau cover should be robust enough that pushing and pulling incorrectly during installation does not snap off plastic parts for goodness sake! I still have mine on order but...

    Nice. I havenā€™t thought about that side enough. On the other hand it will relieve pressure on CCS chargers so I can charge myRiviand and other EV.

    I donā€™t hate Musk. I donā€™t hate CCS or NACS. I do doubt other companies than Tesla are able to build a quality reliable NACS charging network. They havenā€™t so far anyway. Edit: (with CCS)

    Third party companies have done a terrible job with consistency and quality charging experiences. I hope RAN chargers continue to have good quality. When there are a few hundred out there we will se true reliability numbers. I do not hate CCS. I hate the typical CCS charging experience though...
