From the article: "employee says "Rivian is not listening.. it's like talking to a brick wall""... hmmmm where have we seen that before? Oh, wait... but, it can't be true......

Im sure it’s all true…after all look at the source!

Why did you change the search query before taking a screenshot? You completely undermine your point here by doing so. It's clear you searched for "fake news from bloomberg" (it says it at the top), then replaced the query with "Bloomberg" like these are the top hits for the site.

I don't think that any news source is fully reliable at this point. It's always on the reader to seek out reputable confirmation, since almost all journalism has switched to a model focused solely on rage-baiting.

Changing the data in your screenshot is as bad or possibly worse.

If all this is true, then there must be reports to OSHA, regarding these safety violations. I really couldn’t find much from OSHA’s website, but below is a violation I could find. I didn’t see any violations regarding crushed or broken limbs. I think OSHA should be used as the source for safety violations, not Bloomberg or any other news source.

https://www.osha.gov/ords/imis/establishment.inspection_detail?id=1599686.015
Companies have creative ways of not counting incidents as lost time or a safety incident otherwise.

In my career I have seen people lose digits and then go on “modified duties” the next day.

it doesn’t count if no one notices the ambulance going to the back entrance.

Every single article published by Bloomberg re: Rivian has been dripping with disdain. As someone who works with media, its clear to me that that the editors have an ax to grind.

From the article…

“ All 12 employees, one of whom has since left Rivian, filed their complaints in coordination with the United Auto Workers union, which has been trying to organize Rivian plant workers over the past year. The UAW shared the filings with Bloomberg News.”

The UAW would never attempt to strong arm a company.???
Individual employees vs a multibillion dollar corporation do not have a chance. Other than going to OSHA, who is basically a toothless tiger, their only other option is to sue individually or as a group where they also don’t have a chance. Who do you expect them to go to?

If true, these are the very reasons workers started unions in the first place.

I have absolutely no idea about any of the details of this but I can say that I’ve had the fortune of working with a few really great plant managers in my career. Each of them learned from the next and they always hammered on only two things, quality and safety. If you can nail those two, the rest will follow. I stayed long enough to see that faith turned to fact.
I’ve found safety culture to be an all or nothing deal.

?I was going to change the search for more juicy stuff, but thought this is good enough. Conspiracy theory much??

I have noticed this as well. I just assumed Bloomberg has a short position on RIVN. Even positive news for Rivian is reported with caveats and qualifications when Bloomberg is reporting on it. The UAW involvement is not surprising either.

Looks like a total of 16 complaints have been filed with OSHA against Rivian, in the last three years, with a total of 14 complaints against the Normal, IL plant so far in 2022. Of those 14, two are currently closed, and 12 complaints remain open/under investigation: OSHA Rivian Automotive

This seems to match up with the first paragraph of the Bloomberg article, and appears to be their source at least in part for their article:
At least a dozen employees at Rivian Automotive Inc. have accused the electric-vehicle maker of safety violations at its Illinois plant, according to complaints filed with federal regulators.
For comparison, here is Tesla's OSHA complaints for the last five years: OSHA Tesla

Also for comparison, Lucid only shows two complaints filed this year: OSHA Lucid

good catch. I say it is worse as it muddles the waters of this thread with complete nonsense.

For those that are not into clicking links - I've clicked for you and I will report that Telsa has 103 complaints in those five years.

Thanks to @lmr for helping keep things in perspective.
