I hope that 24 hour outlet timeout can be disabled entirely. Sucks that it sounds like an architecture issue.
The notes aren't clear, but hopefully what it really means is that the 24 hours is fail safe, and you just have to press that button again to get another 24 hrs. It can definitely be done, because that is how it operates currently, you turn outlets on and they stay on indefinitely until you turn them off or the battery dies.

The only difference here is it seems to be tying in the 12V and USBC, all or nothing. Flip side is now you can run a fridge on the 12V with the rest of the truck "off".

I asked service about pushing the update early. They won't do it. Service guy did say that they started this rollout on 8/22, so I'm surprised we've only heard of a single person getting the update so far.

Based on the timing, I'm wondering if 8/22 was employee rollout (first leak of features was just in the last day or two). It's still early even today based on precedence. Usually not until the new month? 2022.27 didn't seem to release (or reported on here) until like 8/4. The updated manual referencing it came out on 7/25 but another week for the update notes to surface. The VP, Software on reddit also said it was coming next week in just the last couple days.

We may have a spy among us.......

Call CS, they can push the updates to you…had a mobile SC visit and had them do it for me to get last update.
My car wouldn't take updates. SC had to replace something to make car able to accept updates...since then, delivery of car to me new, I get them about 3 days after they start rolling pretty consistently.

After 2 months it looks like my radio may actually work like it should...rolling the bones on that one!
Yay for me - finally read the release notes. Not only might my radio be fixed, but my lane centering (Dirty_Bastard likes to ride close to the right side of the lane in highway assist) will hopefully be a little more centered, my trip planner may work more consistently (I lose connection and it can't find addresses/just stops), and maybe just maybe highway assist will be available more and not "unavailable", and I'll now know what speed I'm actually travelling at.

All at the cost of maybe not being to open my Tonneau...Hhhhm

It's a liability thing. Vehicle manufacturers don't want a chance of speedos reading low and owners suing them to cover speeding ticket costs so they instead put in a slight cushion. Very standard practice in the auto industry. BMWs in particular are notorious for reading quite high historically along with Honda and Toyota.
Are the odometers then overstating the miles on the vehicles?

Negative, the software engineer with rivian commented on it via Reddit that it only affects the speedometer, not the odometer.

Think that was asked in the Reddit AMA and the response was something along the lines of they are exploring it or on the roadmap, both of which are code for longer term possibility. Everything planned for this year he seemed to be more specific about timing and/or that it was coming.
