Ok, let's say the roll on luggage is about 22-23 inches wide, it looks like perhaps there is another foot of headroom above that, so for to ceiling around 32-35 inches estimated. My minivan is 37 inches. I'm guessing it's likely near the lower range, so a good 5 inches less
this was emailed to me this weekend from CS:
Cargo Floor Length - Maximum Behind Third Row Seats - 553mm
Cargo Floor Length - Maximum Behind Second Row Seats - 1315mm
Cargo Floor Length - Maximum Behind First Row Seats - 2152mm
Cargo Width - Maximum Behind Third Row Seats - 1298mm
Cargo Width - Maximum Behind Second Row Seats - 1298mm
Cargo Width - Maximum Behind First Row Seats - 1496mm
Cargo Width - Minimum -1084mm
Cargo Height - 855mm
Interior Cargo Volume - Max Behind Third Row Seats - 499 L
Interior Cargo Volume - Max Behind Second Row Seats - 1323 L
Interior Cargo Volume - Max Behind First Row Seats - 2499 L
Total Enclosed Storage Volume - 2966 L

So height is 33.7”. Nice job on your estimate. I was definitely disappointed, but I also value range (bigger battery) and a modest overall vehicle size.

If they are really 5'3 then this is Q5 moreso than Yukon on the inside. Have they released the floor to ceiling height?

I hope they made 10 more YouTube shorts showing the seats. And different stuff in back. I need to te-watch, how close was that rolling luggage to the ceiling?
This shouldn’t come as a surprise. If you want decent range and the R1S to fit in your garage you’re going to have to sacrifice on floor to ceiling height/space in the back. They have to put the batteries somewhere…

Nice. Very tempted to get the R1S over the R1T now, though the prospect of owning a pickup truck with Rivian's capabilities still allures me too much.

That minimum cargo width (42.7", most likely between 3rd row arm rests) indicates that a sheet of plywood will not lay flat on the floor as some have hoped.

History has shown that every customer facing experience with Rivian is carefully curated and crafted. It's not by chance that they had two 110lb 5'3" young ladies review the R1S while they had a 6'4" guy (Alistair Weaver) from Edmunds review the R1T early on.

Where did this photo come from? Is it a screen grab from the video?
Yes, print screen grab from second video around 4:52 mark. Doesn't do it justice with what looks like a fisheye lens and crop distortion.

I sure hope they took equivalent still photography in front of El Cap with that morning sun lighting up the granite, this should be a collectible Rivian poster available for sale.

I agree about the setting, but as a photographer, I can say that the lighting is terrible. The vehicle is in pretty deep shadows and even El Cap could have the exposure adjusted on it as well.
Good imagery isn't all that hard to obtain, with some skill and care.

Well, there is a cottage industry of companies that purports to measure influencer networks, brand sentiment, segment social audiences, etc. I've worked with Onalytica in the past, there are many others.

In my experience, in practice, most of what these agencies actually do is generate pretty charts for mid-level product marketers to justify their plans and for management to pat each other on the back for "big number go up." I'm pretty skeptical that anyone can make a causal signal from "we gave it to iJustine first" to "purchase intent increases by 5 points in the target demo." At least with any rigor.

That said, I find it pretty easy to believe that this is smart marketing. Remember that Rivian doesn't actually need to sell any individual R1S in the near term. They have a preorder backlog years long, and there is no uphill battle to sell individual vehicles in the near term. Things like this matter a lot for establishing Rivian as a lifestyle brand that fashionable, sophisticated, well-pursed buyers hold in high regard so 2-5 years down the road, when you can just buy a Rivian, it's rattling around in their brain with a lot of good vibes attached.

For the R1S, they need to branch out from the R1T's "gadgets, adventures, speeds n' feeds" folks into "soccer moms, luxury SUV buyers, Uber Black" style buyers - iJustine is (one) great place to start with that shift.
I've also managed businesses that leveraged "influencer" marketing as part of our overall marketing program/spend. We have been asked to pay influencers for reviews in the past, so some of them take money. I also doubt Rivian is going directly for more vehicle sales with this. It's likely a pretty cheap way to get high quality internet exposure with the goal of building general awareness and buzz about the brand. (Quality measured by the number of views rather than the informational quality and accuracy of the review! :))

I'm certainly not surprised that *some* take money - but as @Snazzy Labs pointed out elsewhere, there are pretty specific disclosure requirements for that sort of thing (at least in the US), so high profile companies like Rivian and well regarded influencers like iJustine are going to be above the board.

In these cases it's more about the company offering exclusive/limited access to something (she's the first one with an R1S, an extremely hot ticket item!).

They're not "buying" a favorable "review" (it's not even a review! at no point does she purport to make an objective/comparative evaluation of the vehicle), but the whole vibe of the channel is "look at this really cool new product" - so the partnership is in both of their interests if it's a good fit; the access grows her channel and audience, Rivian grows their exposure to a desirable demographic, even with no money changing hands.

Not necessarily? Looking at the picture below, the minimum width could be referring to the top width since the sides taper in? If that were the case, based on the other dimensions a 4x8 might fit. Worst case, if you are just hauling a few sheets, put a couple of "props" (4x4, etc.) under one side so it fits on an angle. Not ideal of course, but it would work.

I'm gonna be optimistic that they planned on a 4x8 laying flat. ?

This is why I suggested "most likely". However, projecting downward from the top edges of the cargo opening, there isn't a lot of difference between that and the inside edges of the armrests, almost certainly not 5" difference.
