I wonder if this space is the option if you don't get the spare or spare is under it. Is there a ban by Rivian on showing the spare?
That is where the spare goes, this one does not have it. There is a drawing in the manual for the spare, looks like it would have space on either side, probably for the air compressor accessories and first aid kit.

It is from a copy of manual I have. It looks like it is under it.

Edit: However space wise I have to see it to believe it. Very curious about the size of total space available under the floor.
I think that center section is a lot shallower than it appears in this rendering.

You may be correct. What we see in video may in fact be pre-production:

Its like the videos were done to specificaly not show anything about the second and third row usability. Who « reviews » a three row SUV without showing access and legroom??

I agree with others above, this is pretty much just an advertisement.
They showed third row legroom at the end of the blonde one’s video(11:10 or so). But agree it felt like an ad…

Crash safety. Ever notice how every generation car gets several inches larger in every direction but the inside stays roughly the same?

This thing is much smaller on the inside than it appears to be from the outside. Just compare the interior specs to other 3-row SUVs. The interior volume is equal to things like the Land Rover Discovery and Volvo XC90 while being a much larger vehicle.
But, you get a frunk and the rear compartment below-deck... and while I personally would put a spare there, the total vehicle cargo volume is not insignificant. Plus it's actually a big advantage not to have to put ALL of your crap in one space. Otherwise you gotta unpack a literal truckload to get at that specific thing you want.

I appreciate the clarification but it makes me care even less about the review then since it isn't even a vehicle they own or spent much time with; and doing it for clicks is not much different than doing it for $$$ or a free R1S. In some ways it makes it worse as the compensation is less transparent.
