I love both Tesla and Rivian. This whole thread started with me extolling Tesla over Ford. Not against the Rivian.

Not a straw man argument. They've continually "delayed" it, and haven't shown any sign that they've achieved the specs they stated.

Plaid+ was scrapped because Elon said some shit on Twitter that they couldn't deliver.

The CT literally doesn't have a price set or real specs on their website anymore. It's not like they pulled them because they felt particularly confident about the combination of price and specifications.

FSD literally isn't the true full self driving that Elon promised would be available long ago.

I like what Tesla's done, and the plaid and FSD are cool, but pretending Tesla delivers everything they say they will is just wrong.

How is pointing out that Tesla literally hasn't delivered an entire vehicle that was supposed to be out two years ago, and cancelled the Plaid+ misrepresenting your statement that Tesla has met every one of their vehicle specs and then some ? It's pointing out that that statement is wrong. They Have a track record of not delivering vehicles either one time, or not at all.

The original comment was with DuckTruck, SeaGeo for some reason sent me a link about the Roadster 2.0 SpaceX edition being able to fly or not.

Again I'm here to talk about the R1T and R1S. My original comment about Tesla was in relation to the CT and Ford.

SeaGeo can like Rivian all he wants, hey I want a R1S ?‍

But I'm not here to defend every link someone sends me.

Ok you did. Look like I was saying, I want an R1S. I like commenting about EVs and hate ICE and legacy OEM. I said one thing about the CT vs Ford, per this thread. And people came at me about Tesla. Obviously I'm only allowed to talk about Rivian here.

I think we are all hopeful of Rivian but, like you pointed out, we need to be critical as well. But that doesn't begin and end with Rivian.
I LOVE Tesla and Elon for pushing the market, driving change and innovation, and making EVs a desirable market. But I don't see how any objective person could say that they have met all of their vehicle specs (and yes, I consider price and production dates as "specifications").

Besides canceling the Model S Plaid+ because the Plaid was as quick as the Plaid+ spec was fine, because it would have had a longer range is a loss. But that's likely because the Roadster 2.0 will be in competition with a Model S Plaid+ in quickness and range. Cannibalization is a real concern.

With price, the $25k Model 3 was real and met, no one can say they didn't deliver price. No there price points are of greater contention.

Delivery dates? Well that's just Tesla pushing everyone into the ground trying to reduce as much CO2 as possible. They get delayed. But they still deliver. Every vehicle.

You literally said younger millennial and all Gen Z, which is an age group from 10 to later 20s if you’re trickling into early millennial. Are these the people CT is targeting? Or any EV truck? Doubt it.

The post by an employee of a R1T business owner, on this forum, that was later deleted for fear of being fired. The OP did not want their firing on his conscience.

I don’t know that one guy, having issues with essentially a pre-release vehicle, warrants much concern.
