Dual, non-perf Canadian owner here -
My email stated $7400 for the upgrade, though detailed article on the update states $7200 (made sure to screenshot). I've been waiting for this, and I know that I don't need it at all... But still seriously considering the upgrade.
Have also been waiting for the wheel-swap update, and VERY happy to see this included finally! I do already have an appointment for this Thursday to get my 21's back on - can't wait to ditch the studded Nokians for the season!
Thank you Rivian for continuously making my truck better and better!!
Canadian here wondering how much the performance upgrade we will notice? I didn't get it to save the tax at purchase because it was leaked that you would be able to upgrade later. My question is are we just going to notice the extra pep in only Sport mode? If you get it then I will be curious to hear your thoughts. I saw the 7200 too

For those dual motor owners that have received the update, did it fix the clunk when going from single to dual motor?
good question, mine still does that

I have it, I wouldn't buy it again. It has no real world value. I never use sport mode.

Seems like Gen1 Quad are getting left behind. Not pleased.
This has been known since Gen 1 came out. It's incredible how we get two different sets of responses here that directly contradict each other. One set is people who say that the Gen 2 upgrades aren't worth the cost, and the second set is furious that Rivian has improved vehicles just like every other automaker does, and their old one doesn't have the same features as a new one does.

All manufacturers add features to new cars that weren't available on the older ones, and Rivian has been saying that the Driver+ features on Gen 1 weren't going to ever be hands free since mid 2023 so this is something we should have expected.

EDIT: The first sentence is supposed to read "This has been known since before Gen 2 came out"

So, they won't offer any monthly subscription for people that leasing?

Any gen 1 owners having issues with this update? I might be road tripping in a few days and I like to wait.

i bought my R1T long before mid 2023 when hands free was still being touted, so I would argue that it is something we should have expected (not in this update, but when purchasing the vehicle). I’m not really upset about it, as it would have limited use for me, but the expectation was still there.
