Why can't it retain my camera settings post-update? How hard is it to keep the camera settings the way I had them prior to the update? It's so annoying to switch it back each time when it takes the defaults.

For those dual motor owners that have received the update, did it fix the clunk when going from single to dual motor?

My Quad does this. I wouldn’t quite call it a clunk, but I can feel it engage/disengage.

If you are getting anything close to $5K tax returns you either should not be spending money on a Rivian or you desperately need help to set up proper withholding

The average tax return is like $3k , granted the average person can't afford a Luxury car.

That’s good to know - I have it in for another service anyway but also this issue, so hopefully it’ll all be resolved once it comes out.

I wonder if the upgrade unlock stays with the vehicle permanently or if it goes away with trade in.

At the final purchase screen it makes you check a box saying "I understand this upgrade is non-refundable, permanently attached to this VIN and not transferable to a different vehicle."

With Pre-order voucher pricing, I got my configuration at $71k.. Such a great value. Trade in today is $67k but an equal build would be $96k. ?

That's why very few of us will ever upgrade to Gen 2 because it's financially insane given the incremental upgrades. I have a hard time believing that many will pay for the performance upgrade but glad it's available for those who want it. The only thing I miss on the Gen 1 is the Gen 2 quality cameras. Whoever picked/sourced the Gen 1 cameras should be fired on the spot.

I guess they are hoping people use their tax returns for this? This makes zero sense, just always have it available for the random impulse buy.

My suggestion for an "basic" dual motor owners, save the $5k Performance is a cool feature with very little real world value.

for us Canadians this is helpful to purchase later because the Rivian is in such a high tax bracket of 15-20% tax but buying this later saves that high tax and only 12% on a $7400 purchase
