Tail lights keep blinking

If you're calling in to report blinking lights, IMMEDIATELY mention that it's draining battery and gets dangerously warm (if that's the case, of course) and that you don't want to be liable for the 12v battery(ies) replacement cotst

4 1/2 days from first symptom until battery replacement needed, even while plugged in to maintain state of charge. Then when calling service, I was hung up on twice before reaching someone. This is No Bueno! At least this qualifies for a emergency appointment…we’ll see

Any details on your 12V? One or two 12V? Age of the battery?

Mine was replaced fairly recently (6mo or so).

I'm still on the original one.. I think there's 2 of them.

FWIW, mine was replaced in October, Dual Battery and I kept them in top-shape (I have a thread about that). My "T" Slept for 16hrs straight a couple of day prior this issue showing GREAT battery health

I heard back from support. They said they're pushing an update to my R1T in the next 24-48 hours that will fix the issue. No idea if this is rolled into the latest global update or if this is a specific hotfix. My 12v batteries were just replaced last month, so I hope this lands before they get fried. The vampire drain is up to almost 5kwh/day now.

Yep. Welcome to the club. They're treating the symptom, not the problem. I've got every page of this thread printed out. I'm gonna slap it on the desk of the next Rivian person I see. In the meantime, which SC will you be going to? Several of us have had good luck getting them replaced same-day. Make sure they are aware of the bigger issue. Let us know how it goes!

Gen 1 owner here. Running into the same issues. 12 volt replacement needed, bed cover locked in the open position on the same day, and blinking tail light. I am also experiencing very high phantom drain, presumably trying to keep the 12 volt charged up? who knows. Hopefully Rivian can get this sorted quickly. I have a mobile appointment for the batteries on Tuesday, next week.

Really hope this comes out to the fleet! I’ve been talking with support and messaging the service center about my now rescheduled appointment for Friday. I’ve been trying to explain that if I drop the vehicle off and it sits for any length of time the 12v and high voltage batteries will die and what is their plan to avoid that?

Zero answers, only snarky responses about it being in good hands at the SC. Their latest track record has me lacking trust at this point.

After calling support, they are trying to contact the San Diego SC to get me in immediately. Still waiting on a call back.

Allright, I did a quick sweep on this thread and made a list...
Am I wrong to see that all vehicles affected are GEN1 vehicles? Is anybody's a Gen2?

25 individuals affected (so far) in this forum, I'll sweep Facebook in a little bit (I made a post over there to gather names/locations)

Small note - mine started earlier than 7/16. It was at the airport and I noticed it was losing range quickly several days ago.

My service centre just called and said Rivian will be pushing firmware update soon. Issue has to do with cloud sync.
