System Fault & Noise from HVAC

Started this morning. Will post video soon.

Faint burning plastic smell from vents, rattling sound coming from behind main display, cannot hear it outside the vehicle. For about 5 minutes displayed a System Fault and said to schedule service.

Performed a hard reset and still the same. Scheduled an appointment one month out.

That is annoying. Are you still getting heat? Did they say you can keep driving it until your appt?

I’m sorry that happened. I would still give them a call. Maybe they can either get your appointment moved up or give you more information about the problem.

Well, I did some more poking and talked to a really nice guy named Jason over at Rivian! I love talking to these guys.

Anyway, he first had me check for any puddles under the truck ? I drove trough a bit of a monsoon on the way back from Arlington this am...other than rain water nothing.

Anyway, I had done a hard reset this morning after recording that video. The fault has disappeared, but the noise remained. I opened the frunk to try and locate where the noise was coming from and when I pressed on the cowl cover I heard a snap and the noise is almost completely gone now. ?

Anywho, the truck is for sure producing good heat....turned her all the way to hi...and she is also cooling...turned her back down to 70 to engage the AC.

Hi Yo Silver was in for service mid December and they did do a FCA to evacuate and recharge AC so they had the cowl cover off...it would seem one or two clips were not fully engaged resulting in some rattling.

I am not 100% so we left the service ticket open for a mid February service visit and will continue to monitor the situation. Not sure about the system fault that popped up for 5 minutes but truck seems ok now. ??‍
