Stupid thought for today: DIY Tank Turn

Could it just be a matter of swapping two of the motor wires on one side of the truck? Normal 3phase motors will spin backwards if they are hooked up wrong...

It's an interesting thought.

Assuming you could get to the motor leads, it might be possible to swap leads. But the inverters and motors are sealed inside the "propulsion" asssembly, so it's probably not readily accesible. It's not like a typical motor where you have easy access to the wires inside the peckerhead (yes, that is a legit trade term).

if you could swap leads, I would hope/expect that the the system would throw a major fault. Presumably Rivian is detecting the rotation speed and direction via a sensor, and it would throw a fault such as "implausible motor rotation direction" since it expects forward rotation, but would actually be spinning backwards.
