Really random question here. Completely caught off guard that my guide reached out and it was time. But I hadn’t really been paying attention that the ev tax credits had changed. Dumb, I know.

So… excited for the build out, but recognizing I needed to keep it below 80k. Potentially opting to cancel the spare tire to keep under threshold but apparently that will reconfigure the vehicle and change delivery date. Seemed really odd to me because not an actual mod but rather forgoing placing an extra tire in the bed.

Has anyone experienced this with the spare? Did it actually change the date?

How is everyone else handling the tax credit issues?

Are you supposed to take delivery in 2022? The tax credit is still the straight $7500 until January 2023.

Jan or Feb 2023 estimated. Just beyond the 2022 tax credit.
Yeah, without the BPA that Rivian offered a few months ago you would need to be under the $80k for the full credit. I would ask your guide about what constitutes the “sticker price” though. I thought it was just the base price of the vehicle before any accessories were added.

Thanks all. Also curious if anyone has seen orders delayed based on opting in or out of full size spares.

I probably shouldn’t focus this much on the 80k limit or tax credit. Not sure rivian hits the stringent battery requirements for the tax credits staring in 2023 anyhow. Should just focus on the opportunity to own an amazing truck.

My experience was they delivered without the spare, so I don’t know if it really mattered. It might have changed.

I’m pretty sure the battery requirements don’t go into effect until 2024 and beyond. Unless I’m misunderstanding something.
