What storage device are you using? Did it ask you to format the device when you first plugged it in?
Using these two devices. Still haven’t figured it out yet.

Might want to make sure that card isn't counterfeit. We used to sell a medical device that used Industrial SD and microSD cards. There were so many fake cards out there on the market. Some even came from big box stores too.

I started out with a temporary setup of a right angle adapter and a 128GB Samsung USB stick. I switched it out to a right angle adaptor/cable and a 2TB Sandisk Extreme SSD. Both worked well.

Sounds like a bad component, I though someone else had an issue with the Anker card reader. However, I'm successfully using the same two devices you are in my R1T, along with this, which is just a adapter:

So far it's working. I didn't do any setup prior to use, I just followed the on-screen instructions. Videos are being captured fine and I'm able to play them on my laptop.

Here is my setup that works perfect. USB C and USB A for quick viewing on the PC. Used a Sandisk MAX Endurance 256gb micro SD card and of course, the 90 degree right angle to keep the adapter flush to the console wall.

https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Endurance-microSDXC-Adapter-Security/dp/B084CJJRBW SanDisk max endurance 256 gb microsd card

or you could get the Samsung Pro endurance 256gb card for $29.99

Great recommendation - thank you!

Thanks for all of the suggestions and pics, everyone! Here’s my setup with a Kingston micro SD reader. I tethered the blue plastic dust cap to the reader but I may just ditch it entirely.

Everybody still having success with the Anker USB-C adapter and a microSD card?

Getting my R1S this Friday, and I already have a spare of the Anker USB-C SD card readers, so the easiest and cheapest route for me is probably to just get an SD card (probably a 256GB endurance microSD from either Sandisk or Kingston). Otherwise I'll probably buy an older-model SSD-based drive. Whatever's cheapest in the 512GB or 1TB range!

The Anker I bought didn’t work, but I think it was just a fluke. I bought a different brand and it works fine. Others have reported the Anker works.

Not specifically pertinent to the subject of this post, but I keep two 90-degree adapters plugged into the usb-c ports in the center console. Just to keep dust and crud from entering the plug.

Do you all think aftermarket 4k dashcams are still beneficial, for capturing incidents and plate numbers? or would it be redundant?

Unfortunately our dashcam is not the greatest quality. I had an incident where I needed to pull the plate number and our dashcam isnt good enough to catch the plate event right next to it.

I posted a sealed T7 Shield in Black (1TB) that I'm selling in the marketplace forum last month.

If anyone is interested & wants to help a fellow R1 owner out, I'll sell for the same price as Amazon ($75 shipped w/no tax). As explained in the linked post, I ended up with an extra after missing the return window and don't really have any use for a second drive.

Super simple setup here with an 90-degree rotated USB-C adapter and a Samsung 256GB. Am still considering a true dash cam.

IMG_2990.jpeg
I bought this same setup, but the Samsung 256GB is failing the speed test for me
