But in all seriousness, I think this is the answer. The LE will eventually go away, and I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen around the time they have the LiDAR versions ready.
While they may tick up pricing slightly, I could honestly see them swapping out the LE benefits (Autonomy+, Tow...
I don't believe many people familiar with the industry genuinely expected them to roll out the base level / price model on day 1 of the launch.
I could be wrong and of course can't speak for everyone, but I have to believe that most people interested in a vehicle like this have seen enough of...
Noticed range on the "official" page for the base $45k model (that doesn't exist yet) was bumped to "275+ miles of estimated range" from the 265 that was listed in the leak yesterday. That puts it almost exactly on par with stated range of 274 miles for the Gen 1 R1S Quad on 20" wheels (note...
I think it's relatively unlikely that the $45k version will ever gain much mass market appeal (and I don't think Rivian intends for it to). The ~10% price increase for ~30% increased range (in addition to whatever else may be stripped down on the base model) just makes too much sense for most...
I think they'll keep it just barely under $70k (my guess being $69,990) so you should be good. Have to keep in mind that a tri motor R2 is likely going to perform similar to most supercars and potentially even better than a $125k+ R1 (given the size and weight advantages of the R2).
If you have...
Unless OP already owns or leases an R1, they are not at the very front of the line (and are, in fact, in line behind all other R1 owners / lessees who have or make an R2 reservation before Rivian ends the priority delivery program).

Biggest (and main) annoyance to me is the dash rattle. Going in for service soon and hope they can do something to fix (or at least minimize) that.
Otherwise, by 3 years & 38k miles of ownership have been trouble and service free.
Appreciate the feedback from both of you. I'm about to replace the OEM 20" Pirelli's on my R1S Quad and have been leaning towards this tire so think I'm going to pull the trigger and give it a go. I get really good efficiency on the Pirelli's for some reason (lifetime average is 2.32 miles per...
Now Elon claims that the price is increasing effective 2/28 (likely to try to scare up additional sales). What a clown show.

The only downward pricing movement I anticipate will be in the used R1 market. As far as new vehicles go, I expect Rivian to downshift R1 production as R2 production ramps up to keep inventory levels in check which would mitigate against the need for heavy incentives.
R1 was always intended to...
Updating to report a great transaction with @LukeNowland on the purchase of this adapter from him. Shipped quickly and the item arrived perfectly / looks brand new.
I think the general consensus is that the "base" ($45kish) models won't be available until 2027 at the very earliest (and, as we all know, pre-announced pricing is a crapshoot in general, even though Rivian has been pretty adamant they will achieve that price at some point).
Also worth keeping...
Curious how people are liking the Comma 4 so far now that those appear to be shipping.
I've got a Comma 3x sitting in the box deciding whether I'm brave enough to tackle the install, or if I need to just let the idea go and sell it. Removing the trim pieces to run the wires & doing the fuse tap...
I'm still sitting on 2025.26.01 just because it's been so damn stable for me (and because of reports of speaker / sub inversion nuking audio quality in one of the subsequent updates).
Hoping this is the update to make me take the plunge though, but may still hold out for texting (even though...
So for the "base" are we expecting a watered down dual motor, or some sort of single motor option?
All the early reviews seem to indicate the LE dual is going to be an upcharge from the base (which isn't unexpected, given the need to prioritize margin)
